New here on this forum and I'd like to learn/hear more about what you guys think of Emotiva stuff since it's only sold online. I'm on a budget of around $400 and am trying to find a new a amplifier for my JBL 4401's. Right now I'm running them off a Yamaha A-25 integrated amplifier, but I'd like to find something newer that sounds better, the Yamaha is showing its age. I do like to listen to my music loud, so I worry about whether or not the mini-X will provide enough power. I plan on adding a powered subwoofer to the setup and an XDA-2 DAC in the future too. Is the mini-X a good choice to power these guys? Or is there a better option? I like that the mini-X isn't expensive and fits in my budget.

Those speakers should work great with the m-x as long as your not going for concert like volumes. You should be able to get at least 103db out of the m-x with those speakers@1 meter.

A Mini-x should work great for you. My only concern is that when you play it loud, that you may "sense" the lower power output. You've got thirty days to try it out on Emotiva's satisfaction guarantee. If it isn't enough power, I would suggest the XPA-200 for only $25 over your budget.
