Looking for help....wondering if it makes sense to go to the xpa-200 to power front PSB Image T6 speakers. Currently these are powered by the older 7 channel lpa 1. I know the power only jumps from 125w to 150w, but wondering if any of the other upgrades would help with sq. any help would be appreciated. This will be mainly for home theater setup. Thx!

I have the UPA-2 which the old version of the XPA-200 minus a few differences mainly capacitance and XLR outputs.
Ive used the UPA-2 for a long time and I like it. BUT.....I wouldn't do what you are thinking. I think you are more or less at the XPA-200's performance level already. If you were to spend the money. go straight for minmum a used XPA-2. Emotiva under the name jadedesigns is posting their used gear that they got from the buyback program for nice cheap prices with a 1 year warranty on them. I would wait for an XPA-2 to become available or post a Want to buy ad in this forums emporium section. The XPA-200 is not a hybrid in the middle between the UPA-200 and the XPA-2. The XPA-200 is basically an either or purchase between it and the UPA-200 which is pretty close to its performance. The XPA-200 brings better build quality. But the XPA-2 is just a different animal. I imagine that it's sort of like an XPA-1 split into two channels imo. That's where you should be looking at for meaningful differences.

Thank you for your prompt response. I was starting to lean that way as I researched more. I guess the last question would be should I even do anything at all? Would it help?
i too own the usp2 and like it a lot in stereo configuration btw.
as for one time posters, how else would you suggest someone start? Practice post? Thank you to those who help (garbulky) and not criticize.

Thank you to those who help (garbulky) and not criticize. Which equipment do you mean by USP-2? The USP-1 preamp or the UPA-2? As for what should you do. Well I used to reccomend people upgrade to the equipment that I heard made a difference. But now I realize that a lot of things affect what makes a difference. So as for me. The biggest improvements I have noticed are 1. Speaker positioning. Sometimes you will swear you just upgraded your equipment by just moving the angle and distance a few inches. 1. My DC-1 DAC. More difference upgrading my XDA-1 to DC-1 than the upgrade from my original setup of XDA-1 and UPA-2 to XDA-1, USP-1, XPA-2 upgrade. 2. Room treatments. 3. XPA-2 (but only with a dedicated pre-amp).
