Porscheguy, where are you? Who was terrible today? Brady RTG --- 71.4. (Turnabout is fair play right?) Why is it so quiet in here? falling to the eagles must be a fatal blow to the pats fan base... perfect season is gone just resting up for the plays off..

Today, the Seahawks were missing their top running back, top tight end, center who started the first 8 games and missing several receivers and played with a thrown together offensive line and just barely squeaked by the Vikings, 38-7. However, it was a much closer game than the score indicated. Hawks 433 yds - Vikings 125 yds. Wilson, 78% completion, 3 TD's, 146 RTG and 51 yds rushing ...... Adrian Peterson, 18 yds rushing. The Vikings lost due to a bad call by the officials in favor of the Seahawks which the announcers must have mentioned 10 times in addition to several Vikings players that were injured which they mentioned 12 times. With all those excuses the game was still very close, but the Seahawks lucked out and won by a hair. Go Vikings! The Seahawks are terrible. C'mon Chuck. They already have five losses. They will not even be in the playoffs.. Porscheguy, where are you? Who was terrible today? Brady RTG --- 71.4.

Now you see how the Pats train their QBs? See how Matt won that game for Dallas? That said, WashingDone tried to emulate some of that special sauce play that New England are known for... but alas, they ain't the real deal!

I'm sure most of you have heard by now that over the last several days Steve Sarkisian, head football coach at USC was first suspended and then fired. He was a great college QB and then later head coach up here in Seattle at UW for 5 years. I thought he was a very good coach if not great. Some of the folks up here weren't too pleased when he left UW at $2,000,000 a year for more bucks and supposedly more fame at USC. The Trojan's season has been somewhat disappointing so far this year (3-2 record) including a big upset by the UW Huskies last Saturday. Recently he has exhibited some serious substance issues while he is apparently going thru a divorce with his lovely wife Stephanie. He is relatively young, 41, as the head coach of traditionally one of the best football programs in the nation. Nobody even those most fervent fans of his strongest rivals, especially in the PAC 12 Conference, wish him anything but the best from here forward. We hope he has a complete recovery if he goes into treatment and that he will be back in major football in the future. Sad, very sad! All the best to Coach Sark. I feel the need to retract my post above about Steve Sarkisian. I read today that he is suing USC for 30 million dollars. He claims his alcoholism is a disease and they shouldn't have fired him. The opinion of whether alcoholism is really a disease is somewhat questionable although we hear this stated all the time. I believe it definitely has a tendency to become an issue with some folks much faster than with others. This can be due to inherited/biological/DNA factors, etc. I think I would consider it a preventable addiction more than a disease. We are all in this modern time from high school on warned about the dangers of excessive drinking just as we are about drug use. In his leadership position as a coach he is certainly aware of this and part of his job is to stay alert for alcohol abuse among his players. I can't imagine he did not realize his drinking was becoming an issue years ago. There are TV reports of his having alcohol on his breath back during games/practice when he was coaching the Worshington Huskies including a bar that he hung out at near the U District on a regular basis. He reportedly was rather intoxicated a number of times at USC including an alumni gathering, some practices and games or failed to show up. As we know he was fired, appropriately so IMO. I do hope he has his addiction under permanent control and maybe can return to coaching in the future. However, the huge lawsuit seems questionable to me. The real question to me is did they talk to him, or offer help. USC general counsel Carol Mauch Amir said Sarkisian "mischaracterized" the facts and that the school will "defend these claims vigorously." ..... "Much of what is stated in the lawsuit filed today by Steve Sarkisian is patently untrue," the statement read. "The record will show that Mr. Sarkisian repeatedly denied to university officials that he had a problem with alcohol, never asked for time off to get help and resisted university efforts to provide him with help. The university made clear in writing that further incidents would result in termination, as it did." The lawsuit also asserts Sarkisian has, at times, been "a person with a disability" under federal law because of his alcoholism and that the stress of his job contributed to his alcohol dependency. I will be interested to know how this turns out.

As long as the Patriots can go into Houston and take care of business they can presently become the #1 seed in the AFC playoff picture.

Gratz to the Raiders and Seahawks... Too bad my Bengals lost to the Stealers. Losing Andy Dalton with a fractured thumb on his throwing hand only makes matters worse! The rookie QB (McCarren) looked really good in pre-season and other than the int didn't look all that bad in his first real NFL game... I still have hopes for the Bengals in the post season this year, but things definitely just got tougher! It'd be really nice if JJ and the Texans could hand the Pats their 3rd loss tonight.
