I have considering using an XPA-2 with my 5 channel B&K 7250. The 7250 is dead quiet. How is the noise floor of the XPA-2?

I am just looking for an idea as to how quiet the XPA-2 is. I want to drive my L&R a speakers with it. My 7250 has no audible hiss or hum so I wanted to know if the XPA-2 was also quiet. Statistically the XPA-2-2 looks very fast and dynamic. Any of your opinions would be appreciated.

Professionals and users reviews are unanimous. I think that you just answered by yourself in your question.

I have also read comments from forum members who say they can hear hiss. Several specifically indicate they hear hiss with Klipsch speakers or very efficient speakers. I know I can return an amp with a thirty day trial, so I may do that, but I wanted as much info as possible before placing an order. Further, what deficiency does and XPR amp address that an XPA does not. Thanks.

Cables, pre amp, source but never the amp. ive never heard the XPA-1 amps so I offer no comparisons, sorry. Ask about the -1L or R-1 and I'm there with info. IMHO Edit: just my bias but I don't care for multi-channel amps for two channel music. Multi s are great for HT IMHO but just not two channel. I have heard a lot of great reports about the XPA-2 though. I just don't roll that way. :-)

I have a love of Klipsch speakers and have run many different pairs powered by both of my Gen 1 and Gen 2 XPA-2 amps. No hiss or hum to mention. I can see where a source could produce that but in no way, shape or form does the amp itself in any of my listening. Great amps for sure

Looks like the XPA-2 should work for me, my new XMC-1 and my old B&K 7250.

As an XPA-2 owner, I can tell you it is dead quiet. Ran different speakers from Maggies to efficient dynamics with the same dead quiet result. The XPA-2 will do well!
