Active Speakers with Passive Speakers

First some background: I have 3 X-REF XRC 5.2 Speakers (Used as L/C/R). I am shopping around to complete my surround set and I would like to do it on a budget. I currently own 2 Airmotiv 5's and I thought that perhaps I could use those as the rear surrounds. My questions are these: Is that setup possible with the Fusion 8100 receiver I plan on purchasing? If not, is there equipment that would make that setup possible? Lastly, is it even a good idea (a.k.a. will it sound good?) to setup the speakers that way?

Just hook up the active speakers to the correct surround preouts on the 8100 and run speaker setup.
