Evening folks, Here is my setup which I've had for the past five years. 2-channel setup Paradigm Studio 100's v .5 Onkyo TX-SR707 A/V Receiver Emotiva XP-A 5 power amplifier I've noticed since day one with movies and T.V. shows that I have to turn the volume up pretty high in order to get some decent sound output -10DB on the receiver. While in the video games I play I barley have to turn it up at all and it's ridiculously loud. I ran the Audyssey tuning setup multiple times on all inputs I have programmed but does not seem to help. I recently read up on biamping and biwiring , yes i know I will not really notice a difference in sound quality but I would like to try it out anyway . So over the weekend I decided to make my own cables for biamping and got everything hooked up to the power amplifier, I planned on using the RCA jacks like I did before but noticed on my pre outs I only have two inputs for left and right speakers, where would I put the other two sets of wires? I've looked at the manual but am having a hard time figuring out where they need go, any advice would be great . I am up for suggestion if I need to purchase any additional equipment . Cheers, Tim.

I don't think that the wiring will do anything for your trouble. However it will be a fun exercise. But for your day 1 issue. Take a look at your listening modes. In games you are likely listening to PCM and a listening mode of just audyssey 2eq. For your tv, It will either be stereo or more likely dolby. Since you are 2 channel make sure that you have your dvr/converter box set to stereo output. Once all listening modes have been checked please refer to page 88 of your manual. More specifically the intelliVolume. This will allow you to turn up your sources that are to low and turn down the ones are to loud. Tony

Thanks to all for the replies, I have not had the chance to work on my system since posting this thread. Will post an update on how everything goes, which will hopefully be this weekend.
Cheers..

Bi amping will not fix your volume difference issue as the cause is the source (input) not the output. As Tony posted above, the volume difference is created by the source, its output volume and/or the type of output signal. Input volume can be adjusted in the Onkyo, they call it "IntelliVolume". Have look in your manual it'll tell you how to adjust the volume for each input, from memory it's around + 12db to - 12db.
Cheers Gary

Hello, You can use and try both amps (XPA-5/TX-SR707), but you need run the AUDYSSEY calibration mode. - AUDYSSEY is a very powerful processor for sound room correction with great accuracy and precision, he will improve your Sound Quality and put all great to you! www.audyssey.com/solutions/home-theaterHave you try make a reset? Have you use a Y RCA? For bi-amping your speakers you will need this: 2 X X VRCA emotiva.com/products/interconnects/x-vrca4 X X SS emotiva.com/products/interconnects/x-ssNice and easy! NOTE: IF THIS DONT WORK SOMETHING IS WRONG!
