I don't like that there's video and pictures as well. I would like a device that is geared more towards music only including the OS, the big display wouldn't be necessary then.

I would jump on a Emotiva portable player in 2 seconds as well. Could be a really great sell for the company. When I talked to Dan in Atlanta he said he had team that was very good with digital and was very stoked about it. I told him am happy with CD quality and he said that he has heard Hi Res and liked it. I think they are working on computer based gear but there is no telling what's in the pipeline. Little portable DAC/Amps would be cool from Emotiva.

That's great, I'm sure it will work out perfect for you. I still think it's overly expensive for what you get, Cowon makes some great players that will do what you need at a cheaper price (if I remember correctly) but then again it's not always about price. If you really lke Sony products then I'm sure you will love it. There are quite a few players out in the market for HiRez audio so I'm not really excited about the Sony. Actually, due to all their BS with proprietary formats etc I won't buy anything Sony unless there is no other choice. As I'm limited in budget, I'm going to go with the Fiio X1 for $100, basically does everything I need that the Sony does but at an affordable price. If I had more money then I'd go with their X3 or X5 or look at the other contenders out there. This thing is going to be perfect for me. It weighs 66 grams (2.4 oz.). That is very light. I just ripped all me cd's to FLAC so they are cd quality files. No plans to buy any Hi Res files, just want to listen to cd quality on the go. I will load 64 GB of my must have on the unit and get a 128 GB SD-card to load various other files on. I should get about 40 hours of battery life out of a complete charge and that will be very nice for someone like me that enjoys listening to music for hours at a time. I take a 5 mile walk every day and battery life is important to me. Not going to be using the Bluetooth that much if any. I have some Shure se215's that are 20 ohms and should work great with the 10 + 10 MW output. I am going to turn it on, select what I want to hear, press play, stick this little thing in my pocket and be happy ! No more mp3 compressed files on my portable ! Hard button controls for everything ! And I have no doubt that I will enjoy the sound quality !

Just got my Sony NWZ-A17 and it is sweet ! No hiss from my Shure se215 IEM's and the light weight is just the ticket for on the go tunes.

I just ordered one... Can't wait. My archaic Creative Labs Zen M finally died. 32gb and had it like 8 years!!! Served me well and never owned an apple product. yet.
More to come.
