Hi I am new to amp and having trouble finding the correct choice , a stereo amp XPA200or 3 channel amp XPA3
I will connect unbalanced input to onkyo receiver and balanced input to DAC
I would like to know which unit is stable running 230vac , got no problem and do not generate unwanted noise as I want to avoid repairing it

XPA-3. You should know that the amps aren't supposed to be input selectors. The input selection will have to be done further upstream on a pre-amp or the DAC/avr

If you want a stereo amp than get the XPA2 and there is one for sale in the forum

I would agree that a used gen 1 XPA-2 will trump an XPA-200. If you can swing that kind of cash

I literally just did this last month.
Had a XPA-3 for a few years now, powering a set of Spendor A6's in a dedicated two channel stereo.
Anyhow, my neighbour was looking for a 3 channel for his home theatre (L/C/R) and I said I'd give up my XPA-3 as a trade for a good 2 channel amp. He found a new XPA-200 and I agreed because I didn't think I needed much power.
I've had a few weeks now with the XPA-200 and the stereo sounds close enough, but I can sense just a tad less oomph even with the REL sub at volume. Stereo separation is just good and noise just a tad less than the XPA-3. In the end, the XPA-200 fits my shelf so one less thing on the floor.
This slight side/down grade was more aesthetics than performance for how I use the system now (320bps Spotify feed). I knew I needed to spend a lot more to get an upgrade.

230 volts, I take that probably m,means you are not located in the US? So used may not be an option, plus the warranty/service question is understandable. The advantage of the XPA-3 is obviously the 3rd channel, which most guys use for the important centre speaker. If you do go for a 2 channel amp, what is going to power the centre channel?
Cheers Gary
