I watched Dear Zachary last night on Netflix. I have to say this is one of the most heart breaking and powerful documentaries I have ever seen. I already had some prior knowledge that it was a heavy hitter so I was prepared. That was all I knew, so I thought I was prepared but nothing can prepare you for the events that unfold here. I can't give it much of an overview without completely giving away the story. I will just say it's sad how horrible situations and events have to happen for change to be made. Curious if there is anyone else out there that has seen this movie?

I haven't seen it but you just made me curious enough to seek it out and give it a watch sometime.

Yes I've watched it. I knew going in it would be tough. And was it ever. The sadness and anger of the unfolding of this story is just wrenching for all involved. I knew about the first part but I did not know about the ending. That was a serious shot to the gut. It is great for how it was told, and the following of the case but I doubt I would ever watch this again. It is just too damn depressing, and angers me beyond my limit that this was even allowed to happen.

Haven't posted in a while due to time constraints. You peaked my interested so I watched the film.
Speechless, incredibly powerful movie that tore into me like few movies ever did. It really makes you think about how small your own issues probably are compared to what transpired here. It's also just an incredible feat by the filmmaker and even more so the portrayed people especially David & Kate.

Well because of this thread I had to wiki search this story...
Nope, I'm a huge *bleep*. Can't watch this stuff, I'll be depressed for days. Depressed or pissed. Or both. More pissed 20 years ago, more depressed these days. F'd up world we live in in a lot of ways.
Gonna go listen to some uplifting music now.
Peace
edit: apparently one of the mods changed the word I used to "bleep". Not a problem, but it wasn't a "bad" word IMHO. Any mods wanna PM me to explain? I would like to conform to the decorum of this forum. What rule did I break?
