Hello,
(New to digital stuff , basic question)
Currently considering an XDA-2 to use with my existing (vintage Mc) system...
Can I use an XDA-2 into> C26 pre amp into> Amp?
And - Still use the XDA-2 to control volume on the digital sources ( with it's remote ) Setting my Mc Preamp to a fairly high volume level?
My basic question is can I use the DAC (xda-2) as a pre amp and the existing vintage pre amp as a pre amp also? AS both have volume controls??
Really what I am looking to do is a add a remote to my vintage system for TV, and this looks like my solution.
After reading the instruction manual of the XDA-2 this looks to be possible...
Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Adam

Should be no problem. I used to have an XDA-2 connected to a PRE-1 and later an XSP-1 and the volume control can be used as you suggest.

It will work just fine, now if I could connect a Xda-2 to my wife and control her volume, life would be good!

You absolutely can. Set the XDA-2 to 0.00 volume and control the volume via the pre-amp - or you can try it the other way. But what you really want is the Emotiva DC-1 instead. Go ahead and do yourself a favor - even buy used if you like Well worth it for the quality (imo).

Thank you all for your responses. I will be ordering one here shortly..
As far as the DC-1 vs XDA-2 goes. Looks great - but does it (DC1) have a remote? Really The appealing part for me is a remote on my digital sources...

The DC-1's remote also superior in terms of controlling the volume. The XDA-2 can take nearly a minute to go from loud to soft. The DC-1 can do it in a few seconds. It also can make fine adjustments just like the XDA-2.
