American blu-ray release of 3 titles all on the same day! 1.) Princess Mononoke 2.) Kiki's Delivery Service 3.) The Wind Rises (2013 movie, never seen it) Super excited about this. I can't attest that everyone will love Kiki's or The Wind Rises, but I find it hard to believe someone wouldn't enjoy Princess Mononoke. This title has long been one of my favorite movies. Great story about industrialization and the conflict with nature. I expect the video and audio on Princess Mononoke to be stunning.

Quite excited myself. Mononoke and Kiki are 2 of the 4 remaining DVD's in my collection. (As soon as spirited away and porco rosso are out I will finally have fully converted to Blu-ray.

I watched it maybe two years ago. The picture quality was great! Edit: I also realized the library has a bunch of his stuff on blu ray. So maybe it's a library thing. Edit: maybe I was full of it. It turns out they only had it on DVD back then. Hmmmm

I just went through my DVD's and here is a list of my Hayao Miyazaki directed full length films. Good to see others enjoy his work.
My Neighbor Totoro Kiki's Delivery Service Porco Rosso Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind Castle in the Sky Princess Mononoke Spirited Away The Cat Returns Howl's Moving Castle Ponyo The Secret World of Arrietty From Up on Poppy Hill
Have not seen or have - The Wind Rises - yet.
Anyone here see any of Miyazaki short films or any other works from Studio Ghibli that is a must have? It has been awhile since I looked into this and this is important stuff !
Everyone else if you have not seen his films, run to get them. Start with Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle or Castle in the Sky. Don't kid yourself these are all works of art. I think Princess Mononoke was the first one I saw and it was an intense experience. My Neighbor Totoro and Ponyo are a must for the very young. There are a lot of good lessons to learn from all these films.

If the Princess Mononoke release is the same as the Region B release, I can confirm the picture is absolutely stunning. Thanks to Pop for selling me his copy!
Oddly enough, as gorgeous as Ghibli movies are, I can tell you Princess Mononoke is also the first movie I have watched that greatly benefited from using the Darbee function in my Oppo 103D. I'm not saying it looked bad before, not even close hence why I said the picture is stunning. That said, all the details: the blades of grass, the knots in the trees etc. just POP.

Glad you are enjoying it! I did notice that darbee plays a huge roll in animated pictures. I tested it with finding nemo and it was stunning
