Ran into a nasty bug related to 3.1 and perhaps the protocol changes. It appears that Subscription Notify traffic causes dropouts in the digital audio stream. This is just optical PCM input on input #1 from my PC. As soon as I shutdown the program the dropouts stop! It would seem that processing should have priority over UDP traffic, but this doesn't seem to be true! oops.......doesn't sound promising...anyhow I can wait for your next release (maybe this kind of 'heartbeat' can be turned off by then ) Thanks a lot !

PS: Just a quick note about 3.1 firmware, Zone 2 volume now WORKS. Yes, and the Zone 2 discreet On/Off commands also work, Mute too!

Emotiva should give you a free XMC-1 for all your work. You saved them more than $2K by writing it for them!

Notes on changes and new features:
Firmware 3.1 includes lots of new subscribe and notification messages.
Main selection 1-8 friendly names are now available. I use these to set the “tool tip text” that is displayed when you hover over a control. This uses less screen space than showing the names all the time.
Zone 2 functionality now works.
3.1 now includes a feedback mechanism that indicates what main modes are available on a given input. The audio frame now includes a bunch of icons to set these modes. If they are greyed out they are not available. There is a protocol issue here in that this doesn’t happen automatically. My work-around is to issue an update request when a mode change is made – seems to work ok.
Preset1, Preset2 and Dirac are now direct sets vs the rotation in the older version.
Bass and Treble may now be increased or decreased in the trim frame. There is a protocol omission here because there is no feedback method to see the current value as there is with other trims.
More new items will be happening. This version appears good enough to release and with 100+ hours in doing these mods I need a break.

All great touches. Love the friendly names in the tool tips as much as the work you've done on the audio modes.
I really enjoy using this app, and didn't know how much till I didn't have it under the new firmware.
THANK YOU!!!

By the way, the app formerly would be a bit hit or miss on finding my XMC-1 on my network. Now it seems to be finding it every time.
