As a new Fusion 8100 owner I may have some fairly basic questions. Here is one.
I have my Blu-Ray player connected to HDMI 1 and my HDMI output on the 8100 running to my screen which works fine providing the video signal to the tv while driving my stereo speakers. Unfortunately, my speakers are not located near my tv. Is it possible to use the Blu-Ray player without requiring the Fusion to be turned on? Is there a setting to allow the audio and video to just bypass the Fusion 8100 and use the tv for both video and audio?
The question may sound weird but I have the Fusion installed as the amplification for my stereo system as its main duty and only have the two speakers connected which are set up for prime listening while my tv is off in the corner for general viewing ie football, Shark Tank.... you get my drift. I really don't have the option to easily rearrange my living room due to my home decorator, ( wife ). My speakers are large, hard to drive, nominal 4ohm dropping to a minimum of 3ohm and an SPL of 87, requiring a fair amount of current that the Fusion 8100 seems to be able to provide quite well. No shutdowns so far. The usage of the system is 90% audio.
Any help is appreciated.
By the way, I also am a bit of a headphone snob and spend a fair amount of time listening to my various cans and I will say the Fusion 8100 has an extremely nice headphone amp.

If you aren't using the 8100 for audio from your video sources, why not just run the HDMI from the Blu-ray straight to the TV?

Most receivers will do an HDMI passthrough. If the Fusion doesn't I'd contact Emotiva.

I have setup an 8100 and inadvertently discovered it will do HDMI passthrough on standby, I did not do anything to configure it so I assume it's a default, I don't remember if the TV speakers were on and audio was playing. The feature page lists: - Smart video for convenience. Video-On-Standby allows video viewing even when the Fusion 8100 is in standby mode ... I don't have access to the Fusion 8100 manual at the moment but on Page 48 of the Sherborne 8100 manual it describes Audio / Video on standby so I'd expect the Emo to be the same.

What agenda? The guy wrote 3 paragraphs asking about something and I told him what it was called. Since I didn't know if the 8100 has that feature, I pointed him in the right direction.
I have no idea of what agenda you're talking about. Instead of whining here, perhaps you could act like an adult and try to do what other people in the thread here are trying to do and help the OP.

The Fusion 8100 is for the most part a UMC-200. Look on page 46 of your user manual - its called 'Standby Video'. Enable it and you'll have what you need - passthrough video/audio to your TV/display while in standby.
Its found under Menu > setup > option > 'standby video'.

Option / Standby Video works fine here, and it passes audio as well. It did remind me how horrible TV speakers are even for unimpressive content like halftime commercials. Are you sure you want to go this route? By the way, I also am a bit of a headphone snob and spend a fair amount of time listening to my various cans and I will say the Fusion 8100 has an extremely nice headphone amp. Unfortunately, the Fusion also has a bad quirk in that it applies your speaker settings to the headphone output, even in Direct mode if input is digital. So you'd better not change speaker levels too much.

Thanks for the rapid response! I checked out the Options menu and selected the Standby Video. The result was what I was looking for. The video and audio came through the tv just fine. Also, thanks for the heads up on the headphone issue.
You may all take a break until I come up with my next issue!
