I just had a session, comparing my XPA-2 to my 2 XPA-1's, and the XPA-1's give me a significant and immediate boost in "music appreciation". Here's my question: would I find the same level of "escalation" if I compared a couple of XPR-1's to my XPA-1's? With the current promotion that includes the XPR-1's, it does give me pause to consider.
This is all within the context of "normal" listening levels in a 24' x 16' space. Thanks for any revelations!

the xpa-1 is actually a paralled xpa-2 with bias setting switch (class A/AB) and better coupling capasitors. they both use same type and number of output devices per amp. so it's understandable.
xpr-1 which has more price tag should have even better components but will it boost "music appreciation" is highly dependant on system matching. so while it's on a sale why not give it a try ? ofcourse, if you don't mind with shipping back cost when you don't like them.

I've heard an XPR-2. It's a good amp no doubt. But if you already have XPA-1's, I wouldn't bother switching. The differences between two XPA-1 L's and an XPR-2 were minor imo - main difference being that the XPR-2's were slightly laid back in a nice way and had a 3d feel to the sound.

I have no doubt about the " Power of the Dark Side " , I mean the power, agility, and quickness of the XPR-1s. total controll of any speaker, Dominate the room with these amps!! Never run out of power or authority over any speaker or room!! 8). All that a great looks too!!!

How do you like xpr with your studio 100's? Good speaker!
If not for the energy rc-70's, those were on my list, still are actually!
Studios and rc70 are a fairly close speaker. Both go way beyond their price point in terms of sound, accuracy with good power.

The XPR-1s and the Studios are a match made in heaven!! IMHO
Of course, the R series will/does bring out the best/worst in a speaker system.
Good speakers sound great and poor speakers sound,,,,,,,,,,poor!

Sunfire signature 600 has better midrange, xpa's better low freq, better low volume sound than sunfire. Sanders bests both. I love high powered amps (affordable ones) Emotiva have a trade policy? Trade in my xpa for xpr?

This is with the energy speaks.
BIC is different, cerwin vega is different yet. Mtx is no synergy at all, bad speaker period!
Someday get my dynaudio c4 pair. Or equilavent.

They haven't posted a price list lately so I would call to find the value of your XPA-1s.

Less bright for me. I honestly can not take high freq very well. My head hurts, i feel queesy,, nervous, must leave the area. For me the energy speakers are the best, as the dynaudio c4's for now are out of reach. The tinny, tin can highs on the 100's although not mega bright, did give me a teeth grinding effect i cant explain. Energy's had none at all. But some recordings are worse than others. I also have the treble knob turned back 1 spot on my preamp, even with the energy's.
