I have to say, these amps EXCEEDED my expectations. Honestly, I thought the brand was more for the lower end market and more hype than anything. The soundstage is VERY wide.. Listening to music in stereo, I literally got up from the sofa to see if music was coming out of my center speaker multiple times, the imaging is really spectacular. The Cliche about the speakers vanishing, well they just do. Can't wait to spend more time listening, my new preamp is coming tomorrow and I can only imagine the improvement that will bring as well!

Nice set-up...it looks from your pictures you are hard pressed for some room. Based on that picture I think astedicly and because of your baseboard heat it would be best to go UP. That's just my opinion. You did a good job with rack. Was the decesion to get another piece of equipment after the fact?

I can't believe it.....
So my Anthem D2 ARC processor is ALSO a dud! I guess that what I get for trying to be cheap and going on Ebay again. $1500 worth of cheap.....
Luckily I have had too great Ebay sellers.
Maybe the XMC-1 is calling me......
I really liked the idea of the Anthem D2 for video processing as well......

Sorry to hear about your Anthem, there's nothing worst than getting all excited just to find out things are going to work as thought they would.
Yeah it sure does sound like XMC-1 is calling you! I know it's calling me...

At least I found the issue with both the Classe preamp and the Anthem preamp on the first day.
It was a let-down but it would have been a far greater down a few weeks down the road!

After spending some time with the XPA-1ls',how would you say they compare to your rotel? Absolutely no comparision. The clarity of the music is pristine, I hear sooooo much more in the recordings. These amps are warm sounding, very easy to listen to at deafening levels for extended periods of time. Bottom end power like there is no tomorrow! I want to keep turning it up but I am afraid I'll blow my speakers. I wish I had a meter on the amps to see where I am at. It is way louder than my Rotel. The Rotel has very little punch. At low volumes the Rotel was good but it just couldn't drive the B&W's like the Emotiva's

801 maxtrix series two here. Im driving my 801's with a xpa-3. Something to think about. Can you remove your protection screens from you tweeters? I did this to my 801's and 805's. Oh my god was it like getting a new speaker. Those metal screen were dulling the tweeters!!! With your class a you should really benefit from this mod. I use my 801's for mostly movies and some music. The sound stage and depth really got bigger. Something to think about and google.

I have to say this, the Emotiva amps and the Anthem D1 with ARC were the best purchases I EVER made. Once I got the ARC room correction completed, the sound is spectacular. Two channel FLAC streaming through my OPP0 BDP-105 thru the balanced inputs is mind blowing! Normal DirecTV DD is awesome as well. Perfectly balance sound with every input! I don't see a need to swap out the Rotel for the centers and rears, it sounds great!
