I wasn't really sure where this should go, but this board seemed close enough... I finally moved into the 21st Century and bought a Smart Phone (HTC Desire 510). A lot of my music collection is in flac/loss less format, and the built-in player didn't support it. After a little research. I found the "n7player" (available thru apps (for free))... So far it plays flac and most other files without a problem, as well as DL'ing cover art and meta-data. Link: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.n7mobile.nplayer&hl=enI set my phone so it only does major DL's and updates on my wireless. My plan is an unlimited talk/text, but I only have 1Gb of LTE, so hopefully I won't be going over on my data plan... Just wondered if anyone knows of a better player for Android 4.41 (Snapdragon), or any other cool "must have" apps for this new OS? Thanks, Dave

Thanks, Dave I've been using Poweramp for a year now - very good player with a very versatile pre-amp and equalizer. powerampapp.com/Free to download and try for 15 days....$3.99 for the full version is chicken feed. I would recommend only downloading from Google Play store - apps are checked and free from mall ware, viruses and other add-on junk.

Agree with BlooLoo.. Poweramp is excellent. I have used on an HTC Desire 601 and currently on a Samsung Galaxy s4 with Android 4.4.4 (Cyanogenmod 11) Very happy with it, and happy to pay the few bucks to get a full featured player.
Cheers Tim

My LG Optimus G music player has always supported flac files. It definitely makes a difference to play lossless even on a cell phone (in my experience).

BubbleUPnP can also be used as a player (called local renderer)

Thanks for the advice folks! I've seen a lot of people recommend Power-amp, but I've actually been pretty happy with "n7Player" so I went ahead and spent the $4.50 to buy it... I'm not disappointed with the purchase at all. Granted, I'm new to the android stuff but n7 has met my needs! As far as other cool apps go. I'm liking "Google Sky", I'm a bit of a science geek and there have been a # of times I've seen a bright light in the sky and wondered what it was. Google Sky tells me what it is (and I'm usually right (especially when it comes to planets))... If you haven't checked it out, it's pretty sweet!
