Hi, I'm new here. Just purchased an xpa-2 and a umc-200, along with a pair of Martin Logan em esl speakers. Hoping I made the right decision in that match up. . My plans are to eventually add either an xpa-5 for the full 7.1 setup, or maybe an xpa-3 for 5.1 at first, followed by another 2 channel amp later to round out the 7.1. haven't decided on the other speakers and woofer yet though. Any suggestions? Since I am starting off with ML electrostatics, should I get similar additional speakers, or maybe mix in something a bit warmer? (Would the latter be a mistake?) Thanks.

Welcome to our/your home !! So happy that you have found us,,,,,,,,,,we've been lost for a long, long time,,,,,he,,,,he,,,,, I I think that you should keep at least the from speakers the same make and model, they are made to match and that is extremely important!! Others will say the same,,,,I promise. So, are you a HT only guy? Or do you do two channel as well? What percentage of each my new found friend. Room treatment is a road to explore as well, lots of bang for your buck there. Seems that you have a great start. There's alot of friends here that are willing and able to help with whatever questions you mate have. No question is stupid! Glad your here. Nick

Thanks lol . . I do enjoy listening to music as well as home theater . . I would say probably around 30% the former, due to having to share the auditory environment with my fiance. . You know how it is . .

You won't be disapointed, promise.
The MOST important thing about a home theater experience is to have the same drivers from all channels (except the subwoofer). It will provide a timber matching seemless experience.
