Hello,
I'd like to upgrade my son's system. He has a turntable and a computer. I think the XDA-2 looks great at a fantastic price, but I don't see any analog inputs. What are people doing for a turntable wight he XDA-2? Am I SOL? Do I need to look at the DC-1? The DC-1 looks great, but a bit more money.
You advice is (probably) appreciated! :-)

You either need to look at the DC-1 or a DAC + a preamp. And, if you get the DC-1, you also need a phono preamp, like the XPS-1.

What does your son run the turntable through? If it has usb the xda would work. What Mark said DC-1---XPS-1

Thanks. He has a turntable with a built in pre-amp, and when he upgrades to a better TT, he'll get a better preamp, probably an Emotiva or the new Schiit. He has powered speakers, so a pre/DAC is great. Right now he has a Maverick Audio TubeMagic D1, but he really wants a remote (lazy kids!). Note, he's in grad school, so he's paying for this himself :-) I just love doing the research.
It's really too bad the XDA-2 doesn't have an analog input.
Thanks,
Allan
