Was this a well regarded CD player when it came out? Generally everyone loves their BD players, what about this sacd player?

If it's still going then why not use it...my 971 and 983 are still going, but mostly I use the 105 these days

Powersupply is often the biggest issue...my 971 (no SACD support) had a blown input cap on the SMPS that cost me $2 for a new cap. Other possibility is the drive lens that could need a clean at best or replacement drive at worst. If it's said to be working the other isue is sometimes a sticking cd tray. Parts for anything older than the 95 models are hard to get.

The sticking cd tray can be the magnetic release mechanism not letting go when there is no cd in the tray, I just try to remember to leave an old cd in there when not using it
