Don't stick a fork in the holes in the metal grate on top and don't fry bacon in the nude. Other than that you should be good to go.

Let's see. Firstly, congrats to you on the XPA-5 purchase you made. You have entered a dimension of sight, sound, and mind. Look up at the sign post ahead. You have entered. The Emotiva Zone.
Like most had said, though I'll add lift with your legs, not with your back. Hmmm, used to be an Emotiva T shirt saying that. Install on your favorite rack/stand. Plug it in, play your favorite movies/music, sit back, and Enjoy!

Thanks everyone ! Will report with experiences .. Just checked shipping and said it changed to Monday ... So i got one box full of rca and speaker cables today.. But no amp :-( sigh .. Might be a work from home Monday! It is supposed to snow.. So yeah right?!! Seriously this thing is a beast! So I see the ups guy carrying the amp in hand! I'm like woah this guy is tuff.. Upon opening the front door it was a woman! Boom she is Ike I grabbed it and then realized maybe I should have gotten the hand trolley but it was raining and I didn't want to turn around! Anyway after unboxing (glad for the 2 layer as first box was all beat up it is still heavier than it appears . First, let me say this absolutely zero issues with the amp. Second - it finally has made my triton 7s wake the $&@# up! First impressions in 2.1 .. Played a little steeley Dan and Nora jones.. Woah! Frankly speaking ( coming from a non pro reviewer) it made the experience alive with power where it was lacking - mid range and the high and low end of these speakers now really blend so nicely. It's a great sound and I am thrilled with the purchase. What a great power monster this is.. Kicked on the pc and fired up plex- guess I was excited and starred w Avatar lol saw the first bluray and clicked play! The marantz played well.. Very well for movies although my total experience was a little lacking in the wide feel of the room. Kinda like the sub was either blasting bass or the treble / voice was too loud.. If this makes sense the whole movie just opened up. The room sounded like it was talking .. All channels had a power and clear sense to it now... More to come and pics of the room setup when I get back. I want to thank everyone for their posts as they greatly helped me make a decision! Cheers everyone and thank you emotiva for a great product at a very very fair price! Joe

Glad you like the XPA-5, they truly are a great power amp, right spec, at a previously unheard of price. Once you have opened the door to Emotiva it's almost impossible to close, more gear will get in.
Cheers Gary

I missed the part where you ran the room correction,,,,he,,,he,,,he,,,, Most of us skip that before sitting down to hear a new piece of gear. I'm sure the sound for HT will improve!! Hi jcam, I also suggest adjusting the speakers after the amp change (before re-running room correction). Different electronics benefit from slight shifts.

Hi jcam, I also suggest adjusting the speakers after the amp change (before re-running room correction). Different electronics benefit from slight shifts. Ok - so I did both of those..not exactly at first! ..just go finished tweeking speaker position and re ran room correction. As I type this - I couldnt help but play ACDC at some skin peeling 90 decibel level lol. Wow - you can really crank it up and it doesnt stop. I feel like either my face is going to rip off, or my ears or my speakers will throw a folded ribbon across the room at mach 7. Smiling like a 12 year old school boy who just touched a boob. Will look forward to a movie with the misses this eve to make up for the 80 lb blue monster sitting on the floor (she expected to fit in nicely with this awkward rack thing we have lol) hope she doesnt read speaker blogs LOL! She knows I am nutty about all this and was great to give the green light. Anyway - going to enjoy some more music for next few hours then watch a good flick over a glass or 3 of some nice bordeaux. I'm very glad to hear it helped! I enjoyed reading your impressions. Happy listening! I got in an ats acoustics pad and put it behind my couch and I am amazed that such a simple upgrade helped my sound! Really liking my setup right now!
