Hi all, has anyone else had a problem with speaker cables not having enough slack to span the 9.75 in. distance between the terminals?? I had to cut an AudioQuest GO 4 cable to separate the +- far enough to plug it in. I looked at some other cables I have and none of them cover that much distance. Is there a reason they are so far apart? I received my XPA-1L today and was surprised to not find a manual in the box. Has anyone else received a manual? Its on-line so I don't NEED one. Its hooked up now and running. Sounds very good! Will give it a break in period before making a really critical eval.
Thanks to Emotive for the quick delivery!!!

I plug the speaker cables into the XPA-1L posts sideways, so far all have reached and it takes up less space at the rear.

I think all XPA-1L owners will know what you are getting at. For some, this was a problem. I got lucky in that my speaker cables are Inakustik Premium Silver and I only needed to pull them further apart.
I guess Emotiva forgot to send you the manual. This has never happened to me.
If you are mainly running your XPA-1Ls in class A, one thing I would advise, is not to stack the XPA-1Ls on top of each other with other equipment on top of them. Get them separated by a few inches to let air circulate. You may thank me in a few years.
I'm not sure I can hear a difference between class A and class AB. Perhaps with class A a touch more clarity in the upper mid-range and soundstage.
Regarding break-in time, I think Pass Labs Quote 30 hours, various cable manufacturers up to 100 hours and Wyred quote 300 hours. Sorry for mentioning Wyred here, it just slipped out.

I built my own speaker cables so all I had to do is modify them to fit but who knows why they designed them that way. I have actually bought 3 of them and only 1 had a manual included for some reason.

No manuals with with first two XPA-1Ls Gen 2s. My next three "are out for delivery" according to UPS. I'll let you know if manuals are in the box. Meanwhile, really enjoying my first two units.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I have afforded a 6 inch air way above and 1.5 below the XPA-1L. I noticed how hot it got just sitting there powered up(class A), no signal running through it. Heated up lunch on it:) Right now I am using it for center channel only. Sounds GREAT!! It really brings out the dynamics of the Golden Ear SuperCenter XL. It has two 6-3/4˝ x 8˝ Quadratic Planar Low-Frequency Radiators on top that are really noticeable now. I was driving it with a Yamaha RX-A1040 previously and it was kinda wimpy sounding, not any more!! In a separate area I will be stacking the XPA-2s with a 2in homemade spacer between and open air on top.
Odd about the inconsistency on the inclusion of a manual??
Enjoy!!!
