I finally pulled the trigger and bought UMC200, XPA 2 and XPA 3 . Im very pleased with the sound quality and power when i hook this up with my B&W speakers. Unfortunately im having some problems with the HDMI connections with my UMC200 to my Samsung LED UN55c8000. My tv is not detecting my UMC200, its very hard to fine tune my system when i cant view the UMC200 MENU at my TV , Im not sure what im doing wrong so im reaching to the emotiva community and hoping someone to help me fix this problem.
So here's how i did my HDMI connections. Samsung TV HDMI 2 ( ARC) connected to UMC-200 HDMI ( OUT/ ARC) with OPPO 105D HDMI 1 to UMC-200 HDMI3( bluray) with this connection, if i go to SOURCE on my TV, the HDMI 2 is not highlighted . Other devices directly connected to my TV have no problem. like my cable box and when i connect my oppo directly to TV.
I did call emotiva customer support , He was also stumped and cant figure it out so he went ahead send me another UMC200 but still same problem.
So any advices are greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead for your time.

I dont think its the hdmi cable for i have no problems when im using the cables to hook up my oppo directly to tv and other devices aswell. I would still recommend swapping it out with another cable to be sure. I have personally had cables work in one device and fail in others. Or see if the UMC will work on HDMI 1.

No luck, called emotiva support last week but there were unable to figure it out and sent me another UMC200 instead but still same problem. I called Samsung TV support and was unable to figure it out as well. Im impress with the xpa2 and xpa3 amps. brought my b&w 805 speakers to life but disappointed with my UMC200 for not being able to connect to my TV using HMDI ARC port.

There is obviously something unique, strange, unusual in your set up, we just need to find it. Try another HDMI input on the Samsung. Make sure the Samsung input for that HDMI is set to auto and no video enhancements are turned on. Turn of CEC in all devices. If you can turn off ARC, I'd do that as well. If you have another screen, computer, TV, anything as long as it has HDMI input, try plugging the UMC-200 into it.
Dumb question, are you sure that you have the HDMI cable plugged into the UMC-200 HDMI output?
Cheers Gary

I can try to turn off all CEC and anynet on my samsung tv and umc200 and see if that works and may try umc to other tv devices aswell. thanks for your comments Jonas

I have talked to Emotiva tech support 2 weeks ago , we tried several things but UMC-200 still not connecting with Samsung TV, So he end up sending me another UMC200 and ask me to return the 1st one. When i received the 2nd UMC200, i connect it to may Samsung TV, Sharp aquos TV and Dynex and still all the TV's are not recognizing UMC200 via HDMI, I have tried severl HDMI ports on the TV's connection to UMC200 HDMI output port but still not recognizing it, I have tried 3 or 4 hdmi cable and still not working. After that, I decided to call SAMSUNG TV tech support to hoping they could help me out aswell, outcome is still the same. So i called Emotiva tech support again, we again played with the HDMI ports and HDMI cables but still not working. So he advised me to mail back the 1st UMC200 so they can check it out and test it. By far this is the most frustrating experience i have putting my this new home theater system. Take not, all my other devices such as cable box and bluray players when connected directly to TV and directly to my UMC200 , they do work fine but i needed my UMC200 to work with my TV so i can view the MENU screen, Makes my life easier when trying to calibrate and fine tune my system. So as of now. I have to wait time Emotiva gets the returned UMC200 and give then a few days to check it before i start calling them back again. I hope you guys wont have the same problems im getting and dont have to go thru this as at this time, I feel like pulling my hair off !!!!

I have had my UMC-200 connected to Samsung TV's, Sony TV's, LG TV's plus ASUS and Dell monitors and an Epson projector. It works on all of them. I have had 2 x UMC-200's in for service and both of them worked just fine on the Samsung TV. There is something weird going on in your particular set up, especially since you have tried 2 x UMC-200's. Do you just take them out of the box and plug them in and there's no video? Or do you do some changes first? Cheers Gary

I didnt change any settings from TV or UMC200 , Other devices works like cable and OPPO 105d when connected directly to TV. So for now, im just waiting for the returned UMC200 to arrive back to EMOTIVA so they can check and test it. Thanks, Jonas

After a month of trying to figure out the problem with my UMC-200, I finally gave up. This UMC-200 is now on a UPS truck on the way back to where it belongs. I have tried 5 different TV's ( 2 Samsungs, a Vizio and a Dynex and a Sharp Aquos ) , i've tried about 6 different HDMI cables , UMC-200 still not connecting my TV. I tried my my Onkyo and works right away, you can see the Onkyo set up menu on my TVs.
Special thanks to novisnick emotiva lounger member for talking to me on the phone and trying his best to help me resolve this problem. I was also on the phone with Emotiva Tech support a handful of times with Damon and Chad but in the end they also can not figure it out and ran out of ideas...
So my plan now is to find another sound processor that matches my XPA 2, XPA 3 and B&W 805 speakers.
Thank you all for you time,
Jonas
