I wonder if this information is/will delay the release of the Dirac upgrade and 2.01 firmware! My guess is yes. I would think and hope not. There are a couple of bugs and issues such as the chirp during switching that hopefully will be addressed in 2.01. I would hate to have to wait for two month's while Dirac and Emotiva work through Tony's findings and research and then test on their end and and then maybe or not incorporate any changes. People have been waiting fairly patiently for the Full Dirac version and you know they won't be happy if that is delayed. Just my .02. Please don't fry me for my thoughts. I doubt it will cause any delay. The firmware has nothing to do with a cal file change so there should be no worries there. And the full version let's you use your own mic and cal file anyway so I don't see why it would make a difference to the full version.

Tony, this dosent work for me "C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Dirac\OEM\Emotiva\MicCalFiles (windows 8) with one of mine." I have windows 8 pro and when I go to C/user/name, I don't see a file AppData/roaming etc...I can not figure out how to download your file.
Any help would be appreciated.

I just finished running Dirac with the Cross Spectrum cal file and I can say that it is very very close to Tony's math cal by comparing graphs. I have not listened to it yet but my son will later on and I will see if he mentions anything, kinda a blind test as it were. I don't think it will change much TBH. I hope everyone has a chance to come back and comment after they have fun Dirac with the new cal file.

What's the file XTZmic_cal.txt used for?

Good question, maybe Tony knows why they included it.

What's the file XTZmic_cal.txt used for? Quote taken from one of my posts quoting Dirac's website The part about the Dirac Live Room Correction Suite includes a calibration file to this microphone. That is the file that is generated for that microphone. I think that it was an oversight that it was left in LE. Tony

Has anyone else had to reboot the XMC-1 after loading the Dirac filters to get the subs back to working.

Ansat,
So you saying the EmotivaMicCalOA file with the OA for off-axis with this description "# Emotiva Mic off-axis calibration file" is the wrong file?
That they gave us the on-axis calibration file instead?
With all due respect, I do find this a little hard to believe but it doesn't mean you are not right since you have some information to back it up. I don't have any evidence except to believe that Emotiva could have made this error. But I could be wrong.

socketmanI am remiss in forgetting to thank you for your contributions in the analysis Tony started. The data you provided via your CS calibration (which you paid for) really helps confirm what Tony suspected and many users reported based on their calibrated ears. You both have contributed in a positive way to improvements in the XMC-1 and have been class acts. Thank you so much... Mark

I don't have any evidence except to believe that Emotiva could have made this error. But I could be wrong. The Emotiva file (90deg ?) and the Cross Spectrum (0deg) file have been compared and they are virtually identical whereas the Cross spectrum 90deg file does not compare in any way or fashion. Reread what Tony posted last nite and try to absorb everything and you will see that he has backed up this claim fully. I would also say please feel free to continue using the Emotiva calibration if it works for you. Richard

This is the second time I have run Dirac and my son comes and says that the subs are not working, both times right after running Dirac. I manually reboot the XMC-1 with the rear switch and all is well again. Strange I know but that's how it played out. Richard
