I'll take some of my recommendations from another thread and add to them a bit...
If you're looking for Blu-ray Audio here are some suggestions....
Steven Wilson - The Raven That Refused To Sing (one of the absolute best recordings I have - stellar - and also in 5.1)
Steven Wilson - Grace For Drowning
Bryan Adams - Reckless (recently released, has a 5.1 mix and the sound is incredibly good - I was pleasantly surprised with how good it is)
Supertramp - Crime of the Century (recently released after many delays - 2-channel only, classic album - not much else to say, and sounds good)
Supertramp - Breakfast In America (great album, but the sound on this one is not as good as some - still good but not great IMO)
Rolling Stones - GRRR (a great collection of songs - nice sound)
Stevie Wonder - Songs In The Key Of Life (some good songs, and surprisingly good sound quality)
Yes - The Yes Album (Steven Wilson remaster - 5.1 mix)
Yes - Relayer (Steven Wilson remaster - 5.1 mix)
Yes - Close To The Edge (Steven Wilson remaster - 5.1 mix)
Gentle Giant - The Power And the Glory (Steven Wilson remaster - 5.1 mix, and a somewhat unique disc (to date) - has some video/lyrics instead of the typical static images)
Opeth - Pale Communion (Steven Wilson mastering - 5.1 mix)
Rush - 2112
Rush - Moving Pictures
Rush - Fly By Night
Rush - Signals
Tom Petty - Mojo
Tom Petty - Damn The Torpedoes
Tom Petty - Hypnotic Eye
Bob Marley - Legend 30th Anniversary (get the 30th Anniversary version of CD/Blu-ray that was released mid-2014 - it's better than the HFPA version and has a 5.1 mix)
Black Sabbath - 13 (their latest album - 2-channel only, but nice sound quality) - the vinyl is also quite nice
Not Blu-ray Audio, but still higher-rez/5.1 mixes/nicely mastered/remastered...DVD-A/DVD-V or DTS discs...
Emerson Lake Palmer - S/T (Steven Wilson remaster - 5.1 mix)
Emerson Lake Palmer - Tarkus (Steven Wilson remaster - 5.1 mix)
King Crimson - Red (Steven Wilson remaster - 5.1 mix)
King Crimson - Starless (Steven Wilson remaster - 5.1 mix)
King Crimson - In The Court Of The Crimson King (Steven Wilson remaster - 5.1 mix)
King Crimson - Discipline (Steven Wilson remaster - 5.1 mix)
King Crimson - Lizard (Steven Wilson remaster - 5.1 mix)
King Crimson - Larks Tongues In Aspic (Steven Wilson remaster - 5.1 mix)
Anything from Porcupine Tree
Any of the Opeth releases with CD+DVD-Audio discs like Blackwater Park or Heritage (most are Steven Wilson mastering)
Eagles - Hell Freezes Over DTS
Steve Miller Band - Fly Like An Eagle DTS
Any of the Donald Fagen DVD-Audio discs (Nightfly, Morph The Cat, Kamakiriad)
Steely Dan - Two Against Nature
Steely Dan - Gaucho
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Southern Surroundings (a Walmart exclusive still available - around $12 and includes a great DVD-A disc - incredibly good sound of most of their biggest hits and in 5.1 to boot - by far, the best $12 I spent a couple years ago when it was released)
The Doors - studio albums all available on SACD or DVD-A
Foreigner S/T DVD-A
Foreigner 4 DVD-A
Foreigner - S/T, Double Vision, Head Games and 4 - also available on SACD - I've heard DV and HG and they sound pretty good, but not great (but still an improvement over the cds)
Humble Pie - Smokin' - I can't recall if I have this on DVD-A or SACD, but it sounds pretty good
Kooper Bloomfield & Stills - Super Session - recent multi-channel SACD release - great sound for an older recording - this one also surprised me with how well they re-mastered and mixed this one
Metallica - S/T (Black Album) - DVD-A - not sure if it's still available, but sounds good, although IMO they got a little aggressive with a few of the surround mixes.
Bob Dylan - a lot of his catalog has been remastered on SACDs and many of them are quite good (I've got maybe 5-6 and they're well done).
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours - DVD-A or recent SACD release - I have the DVD-A and it is very good.
Deep Purple - Machine Head - DVD-A - a great remaster of this classic - one of my favorite 5.1 mixes of an older album - sounds great.
CD/DVD...
Godsmack - Greatest Hits - the second disc (well-worth the price of admission - a real gem IMO), a DVD - An Evening With Godsmack is very good and is higher-rez and multi-channel as well as 2-channel)
Godsmack - The Other Side - CD is good - if you can find the SACD it is stellar (and multi-channel).
Heart - Live In Seattle - CD/SACD (hybrid) - very well-recorded and good mix of songs (also available as Blu-ray concert)
Hall & Oates - Live at the Troubadour (CD/DVD) - another well-recorded and nice sounding CD (also available as Blu-ray concert)
+1 for a few that have already been mentioned...
Alice In Chains - MTV Unplugged (CD or the DVD which has higher-rez and multi-channel as well as 2-channel) - great sound
Grateful Dead - I've heard the recently released SACDs are very good - I have the DVD-As of Workingman's Dead and American Beauty and they are very good
Dream Theater - their 2013 S/T album is available as a CD/DVD-A (5.1 mix is nice)
Any of the Led Zeppelin re-masters - the HD Tracks downloads were definite upgrades for me over earlier CD versions, and the vinyl was also an upgrade for me
Steely Dan - Aja - CD, Gold CD, vinyl, SACD - they're all good
Elton John SACDs - I have a couple and they are good.
Queensryche - Empire - DVD-A - nice disc.
