Can the Fusion send out a signal to the speakers when it is in standby? On the right channel speaker I get low level pops and crackles when everything is supposedly off (in standby that is -- unplugged of course no). Nothing like this for the first year of having this unit.
What should I be checking? Thanks.

I also sent a message to Tech Support last week and there has been no answer from anybody there. The noise continues, most of the time (whether the unit is on or off or muted) enough that my wife would rather listen without the right speaker wires attached. And especially when the unit is in Standby it is rather horrid to have the snap, crackle, pop. (Apologies to Kellogg.) So nobody on the forum and nobody on staff will help?

bst, sorry to hear about your trouble. My 3-month old 8100 is dead quiet, whether it is in stand-by or on with no source signal. Had yours be making those noises when on, I would have suggested to check your sources and relevant connections and supply cords. Since it does it even when in std-by, I agree with bootman that you are better off just calling tech support

I just hooked up my Fusion 8100, and I'ts dead quiet, noticeably quieter than the Harmon Kardon it's replacing.

Not sure if you guys finally got through to Tech Support, but I have the same issue with mine. Crackles and pops even when in standby mode. When I got through, they immediately identified the problem as a bad transistor(s). It's happened to a few so they knew the symptoms right away. I have to box it up and send it this week.
