Hi all, any opinions on these 2 players? I am going to upgrade my Blue-Ray player. I see many people have these 2 models. What are the merits of each?
Thanks, Splash 51

Are you looking for a 2 channel music player? If so the dac and balanced signal path would be desirable in the 95. If your only looking for a bluray/network player I would go with a 103.

I like the 103 - it gave me the option of ash-canning the preamp processor - so I did. I don't watch that many movies in multi-channel - just the ones that have an exceptional sound track. The sound quality is great. Works for me. I don't know if the 95 has volume control over the analog output like the 103 has but if it does then IMO it'd be a push. If you need networking and/or 3D then the 103 would be the pick.

Hey Ron, I am using the HDMI ports. The video looks great!! I have not had time to tweak the video knobs yet. Sound is really good on the digital side, I am using a Yamaha A1040 for the audio processing right now. My primary reason for buying a new player was for video and SACD capabilities. I had a low end player. If I were to use it for analog audio I would choose the 105 due to its Sabre32 DACs.

Thanx, pretty much my feelings, but I do use it quite a bit for movies.

Thanx, pretty much my feelings, but I do use it quite a bit for movies. Ron I suppose it is probably a matter of aesthetics and personal choice, however, I, personally chose the BDP95(now the 105 which is even larger)over the less expensive model because with its considerably larger profile, heavier chassis and larger power supply, it has the look and feel of a real audiophile component. The analog side of the issue has already been discussed in detail and the HDMI performance is pretty much the same as the 103, however, if its worth it to you in spending the extra money, something to consider.

Cost to performance I like my 103.
