More like a UMC-200 replacement. I am looking forward to more details - and please give us more PEQ bands for the subwoofer(s)! I just started to set up my XMC-1. However, if I read the manual correctly there are 11 bands of PEQ for the sub(s). You need more than that? I will definitely manually EQ my sub and I would guess 11 is way more than enough.

I am talking about a successor to the UMC-200. The UMC-200 has 3 bands for the subwoofer channel, so I am comparing to that, not to the XMC-1.

Thank you for the update Dan.
Sounds like I will sit back and relax and wait to see what you have in store for us as far as a new amp. I am sure that will be one of the new goodies you have coming our way.
Regards to all,
Steve

Makes me almost happy that I delayed my HT build. Now, if I can find a projector that provides equivalent features and value as the XMR-1, the wait will have been very worthwhile! Thanks Dan for the great news. Looks like your team sat back and took about one deep breath after the XMC-1 launch before pushing new product development forward at an even greater pace!

Great. New stuff to replace my old stuff. Now how do I explain this to the wife? Perhaps you can sell something with a pink trim?

Or perhaps a line of pink trim pieces to go with the Silver, G1 Black and G2 black trim pieces. In fact, you can just but an extra set and paint them yourself! That way you can get the exact shade she wants. It will be hell to pay if you got the wrong one and it didn't match!

Home Theater just got a whole lot more exciting with the XMC-1, and the XMR-1 later? Look out world, the multichannel processor has been elevated to a whole whole new level, and the leadership in processors continue here at Emotiva Audio. I have a couple of friends I am steering over to Emotiva, so they can see and hear what the excitement is all about. They don't Emotiva. Yet, that is.

Let me answer a couple of questions... 1. The HDMI upgrade can be done in your home. It involves removing the top cover and unscrewing the HDMI board and unplugging a couple of connectors. The new board fits in the exact same way as the old board. You'll screw in the new board, plug in the connectors (which can only go in one way!) and re-flash the unit with the new firmware that will be included with the board on a USB drive or as a download. You're done. Then you can wait for someone to make a real 4k player! Ha!! 2. The are several new processors in development right now. I'd spoken about this at CES, so its not a secret. We have a 16 channel Atmos enabled unit in development and it will be the new XMR-1. It will have a new T.I. 800 Series six core processing engine with enough power to handle Atmos, DTS-X, and whatever else is thrown at us. It is completely balanced on ALL channels and will go head to head with ANY processor on the market today, or tomorrow. It goes without saying it will ship with Dirac Live for Emotiva on all channels, and soon after release, we will be able to offer Dirac Unison. If you haven't heard of it yet, search it on Dirac's site. The new XMR-1 is going to be a monster. Made in Franklin, TN USA 3. There is a "baby" 7.1 processor in final development. It has some very cool features that I'm not ready to speak about just now, but it'll be a sweetheart. I predict this one will be a huge success. As a teaser though, it uses a smaller version of the OLED used in the XMC-1 and you have to see it to believe it. Same exact look and resolution, but smaller. It's going to have some very unique and useful features. We have fully functional hardware running on this unit, so its launch is not that far off. Made in Franklin, TN USA 3. Speakers are well into development. I'll admit we've had some false starts and stops on this program. However, we are on track now with a new line that is going to be really special and reflect the values and thinking of our company. We've got a great new look that says "Emotiva" and the quality of the European made drive units is stunning. And yes, they will be very affordable. 4. You're going to be seeing a lot of new things on the site very soon along with some exciting announcements in the next 30 to 60 days. This is going to be great year for all of you, and the company. Cheers, Big Dan Looking forward to the HDMI upgrade and 4K in a couple years if it is an improvement worth the money.

I wouldn´t call the XMC-1 the "successor" of the UMC-200. First, both were sold at the same time, so it´s no real succession. Second both units are in different classes, feature and price wise. You just can´t call the new BMW 5-series the successor of the old 3-series I guess. Emotiva has 3 lines, U, X and XR. The XMC-1 - for me - is the first processor in the X-line of products.

Thanks for the update, Dan. Muy bueno. I've been saving my shekels for this, so I'm ready to order my XMC-1 on the same day Dirac Full and firmware Ver. 3.0 are released. T-

Awesome news. This addresses my biggest issues with the current Dirac implementation: (By the way, the sound improvement over my previous Pioneer SC-07 is HUGE even without Dirac).
1) My MIC shows all speakers with a significant dip at 10KHz to 18KHz. My tests with REW/UMIK-1 show almost flat (1/12 smoothing) response from my mains. I should send my MIC back, but I will probably just wait to use my UMIK with Full Dirac. 2) I have an almost 15dB difference in sensitivity between my speakers. I think this significantly affected my Dirac measurements as I had to lower greatly to avoid clipping for the most sensitive and the lowest sensitivity speakers were very quiet during measurement,

PLEASE make the channels all flexible to take any output or number of subs (and include separate delay / phase adjustments for each sub channel 2. Hurry up and take my money! Has the waitlist started? I want to sign up!

Let me clear up a couple of things...
The XMR will be our top of the line unit for the moment. We have changed the line strategy a bit.
The anticipated MSRP of the XMR-1 will be right at $5k. Remember, it's closet competitor is $20k. This is a very expensive product from a BOM and development standpoint. At $5k it's a bargain.
The new 7.1 processor is the backbone of a new line of affordable products that will replace Ultra Series. BTW, it's 1RU tall and all of the new amplifiers are 1RU too!! This is going to be a great new line. We've re-thought pretty much everything. All made in Franklin TN USA!
See, we've been busy!!

Wow! You guys have been busy brainstorming. USA-made 1RU processor and amps replacing the Ultra series? Now that's something to get excited about. Suddenly I'm super happy. Waitaminute--didn't I just say I am all set with gear? Yes, yes I did.

Great update Dan - very exciting news on Dirac and REW. Hours and hours of tweaking to come! Just to stop us from having to check every day in March - could you comment on start or end of March perhaps?
