Considering those as well! Didn't hear the revel performa3's as intended this week but I've heard the cm10's and quite enjoyed them!

Obviously within the Emotiva line they sound best with the XPR line of amps. With the XPR-5 or XPR-2 they sound amazing. My buddy has the XPR-1s and they sound amazing with those too . IMHO, I feel you gotta go XPR line to complete this picture. It's truly high end with this combo and with Dirac, it's hard to top without spending a lot more $$. The F208 is very smooth but very revealing as well. The little bit of edginess on the top end of the XPA line (I've had the XPA-5 and XPA-2 gen2) can easily be heard on the F208. The only other caveat. Bad recordings are tough to listen to bc the great recordings sound so much better in comparison. Did you own the XPAs and XPRs simultaneously? Did you do any at least somewhat credible blind tests? I have no interest in starting the same old debate of debates concering amps I'm just curious how you arrived at your statement. If you have a 4000 USD speaker budget I guess go XPR. Not a rich man by any means at all! Been saving and eating soup to scrape up the money to do this. Fact is if I need xpr amps to get the sound quality i want I will just have to keep saving but I will be a while. Also looking at a used halo amp right now

If you have a 4000 USD speaker budget I guess go XPR. I still have the XPA-2 gen 2 that I'll be selling shortly. I have decided to keep the XPR-2, I sold my XPA-5 prior to taking deliver of the XPR-5. Well, while I'm humble at heart, I have golden ears. I did do a ton of switching back and forth between the XPA-2 gen2 and the XPR-5. Because I thought the XPA-2 had punchier bass I wanted to use them with my F208. But in the end the XPR-5 was more refined and I stayed with them to drive the F208. I also did a ton of a/b test with the XPR-2 and the XPR-5. Initially, I thought the XPR-5 sounded better than the XPR-2, because they really did. I had the polarity wrong on one of the XPR-2 terminals. Once I fixed that, the XPR-2 clearly sounded better than the XPR-5...close but the difference is clear. I agree that the XPR is definitely the way to go. And no offense to the XPA-1L owners, but I hate that amp. Maybe hate is a strong word but I hate that a 35 lb amp is called a monoblock. It's a mono amp and doesn't resemble a block by any means. The way I look at it, if you are after that "high end" sound, you gotta go with the XPR line amps. Also, the CM10 S2 could be really good. B&W needed to update that original CM10 because I thought it wasn't too good and the F208 is much better by comparison.

I could stop my recommendation right there,,,,,,,but then someone might suspect that I really wasn't movisnick!! I too, am not a wealthy man , along my journey I've tried many Emotiva/Sherbourn amps, over time I continued to trade up looking for the quality, control and sonic bliss I wanted/needed. A month at a time I upgraded till I found the love that satisfied my ears, the XPR-1s. They are worth the time , patients and money! I'll leave you with this one more bit of advice. Save!

There are many great choices to choose from. Have a look at Focal models in your price range. They are very good.

What a funny thread... As usual you're probably more confused now than ever. All Emo amps sound the same... Good power amps are........ Good power amps. There are many very good speakers, but you might like what others hate... The best speakers are the ones YOU like... Period..
