does XPR really require a 20A power cord? And If i get a 20A power cord, does it have to be plugged only in a 20A dedicated power line? Sorry if these are stupid questions...

you'd think Emotive would make such power cords...different lengths...2,3, or even 4 meters long...

I was thinking that some were just replacing their 15 amp outlets with a 20 amp outlet. That doesn't make it a 20 amp circuit, but you can use the 20 amp plug and not have to modify the cord. And it is very easy to replace outlets.

As Mark says it is easy to replace outlets, but make sure to use the appropriate Romex, such as 12-2 at a minimum for 20a circuit.

Hello everyone. First time here ! So I purchased this beast (xpr2) and I'm a little confused. The bottom line is it should work on a 15a outlet with an adaptor ? I didn't see this problem until after the purchase lol. Thanks in advance.

I didn't see this problem until after the purchase lol. Thanks in advance. It all depends how loud you play it. The louder you go, the more power you need. Many people are running their whole system, including multiple amplifiers, on a single 15 amp circuit. Which probably means they wasted their money on such high powered amplifiers.
My xpa-2 rarely lights more than one or two lights on the power display, which suggests all I needed was an upa-2.
Sincerely, /blair

I don't need a Shelby Cobra. My Fiat 500 will get me to work and back each day.

Without rereading all of the posts, have you ever seen this amp powered on?
Do you get any lights at all?
What at happens when you hit the power button? Is the power switch on the back on?

ok so I installed 20a breaker and outlet today and still the amp has no power (main power switch is on). Gave up and I shipped it to Emotiva for $90 bucks. so I got a dead amp from audiogon : (

I use the 15amp and runs perfectly fine. I would get my $90 back from the audiogon seller
