I have a question upon looking power monitors i wondered why they don't have xlr connection as an option.
I was thinking about a confined space setup where it might not be possible to use a tradition amp setup to an av processor like the xmc-1
I am in a strep that might not be possible to use an xpa or xpr amp due to limitations of wiring on 1 circuit, I would love to run amps though the reality is there is to much on 1 circuit as is and it can not be modified given the space is a caravan..

If I was going to buy at this stage I would have to wait until the aud is in 90's , I was looking at the specs I thought it was odd not seeing xlr's being stock standard for a powered monitor

I have Airmotive 4's in my home office and they have balanced (XLR) connections. I recently had a set of Airmotiv 6's for setting up and they had balanced (XLR) connections. I don't believe that any of the Emotiva powered monitors don't have balanced (XLR) connections.
Cheers Gary

I initially asked as looking at the latest pictures they don't seem to have the xlr option from what I could see.
I'll have to check the 4's and 6's though I was thinking about using the 8's as fronts and either 6's or 4's as rears
I noticed on the stealth's they are using a different connector.

If you are using sub/subs I see no need to employ 8s for the fronts. The 6 go plenty loud and extremely clean. For the price saved, you could go 6 all the way around. However, for a dedicated 2 channel listening environment, I am sure the 8 would be excellent choices. I plan on picking up a pair for upstairs.

As jlafrenz mentioned the Stealths use the Neutrik connector which will accept both XLR and TRS balanced plugs, the Airmotives use the traditional XLR jack. If the pictures are unclear you can read in the specs that they all accept an XLR connection.

If you want to connect an RCA to an input with a Neutrik you can get a neat little 1/4" to RCA adapter - then just plug a standard RCA interconnect into it.. (In fact, if you want to put the speaker back against the wall, you can get a really handy RIGHT ANGLE 1/4" to RCA adapter.) (Of course, you can also get a cable with whatever connector you want on each end if you prefer.)

Myself xlr to neutrik Would be the way to go As for subs I don't have a solid floor I doubt I can deploy them

Myself xlr to neutrik Would be the way to go ... Just to be clear, the Neutrik connector accepts a standard XLR cable, no special adapter required. I have the Neutrik style connector on my Focusrite A2D converter, you can see here it accepts a standard XLR or 1/4" (TRS or TR) connection. As Keith mentioned, only for RCA do you need an adapter.
