When in doubt, go up. I used the IXLs in an infinite baffle sub in my attic. Four drivers, two manifolds, one EP2500. It's flat to 10Hz and extends down to 5Hz. A 10Hz test tone gets every wall, door and window in the house to resonate like crazy. I have REW graphs somewhere on my PC. I need to dig them up. I'm moving the sub soon and I want to compare it to the original spot. Two manifolds with two drivers each.Grilles on the living room side.

I could not even imagine running four of them. I would think you need gigantic speakers to be heard over those monsters. That's a common misconception with subwoofers. You can usually match your sub with basically any speaker of any size. Take my current setup as an example. I'm building a new LCR setup and I'm using a 10+ year old JBL NSP-1 HTIB right now. The JBLs are powered by an XPA-5. I believe I have them crossed over at 80Hz. I'd have to look. With the sub reinforcing the bottom end, I can crank the setup all day long. JBL NSP-1

That setup probably discourages wildlife from taking up residence in your attic too! siggie

Well little update to the thread, I will be adding IXL-18 #2 from Ivor. He shipped me the Cabinet and Driver about 2 months ago and FedEx did a little number dropping it I'm sure more than once, the cabinet I was able to patch up but the driver also suffered some repairable damage, FedEx dropped it so hard that the magnet actually moved on the basket causing the cone not to move but Mark at Mach 5 audio has it and is repairing it with a new magnet, voice coil and cone. Today I was finally able to finish the cabinet to match my other one with the Restore 4x finish, I will let it sit for a few days to settle and dry before I bring it home and wire in the binding posts and have it ready for the driver. Oh boy I can't wait to have two of these running knowing what one of them does

Looks good Chad, were you able to fix up the corners so that you can't tell they were damaged? I still can t believe that happened. I just shake my head every time I think about it.

I hope I don't derail your thread but I'm really frustrated with the way these shippers treat our packages. Anyways I like the way the grey makes the appearance of the driver pop, but not in an overly flashy way. Good job, thanks for sharing.

Not at all man, I've actually had really good luck(knock on wood) with shipping or receiving things without damage, the actual two latest issues have been both with FedEx, this shipment was damaged and I had an XPA-5 amp shipped from Texas to North Dakota and the box looked as if it went through a bit of a war and it was even wet and damp but the XPA-5 came out unscathed so that was a good thing.
