For the record, I consider myself an independent. Since I am a Canadian residing in the US, I have no ability to vote here anyways. I seem to align myself more with the Rep's the last few years but have sided at one time or another with all parties. Probably more so to do with the idiocy involved in the Liberal party and their overt support of political correctness. No party line for me.

... This was a light hearted thread until you showed up, now you are just trying to provoke everyone. ... I would disagree, this thread turned a couple hours before unsound arrived, I think you already called someone out regarding this on page two. In my opinion this was a political thread from the start - might climate change language end up in either or both parties platform? Making fun of a political position under the guise of humor is no less political, many cartoonists make a good living expressing a position in a humorous way - some find it funny, others might be offended (France comes to mind).

Quite an enlightening discussion! Would attention to syntax and the occasional spell check be too much to ask? No way, I'm on my phone. Why does that offend you? Phone shmone. No offense, just curious as to why, if a response is assumed to have been thoughtfully considered, why would you not check and be sure it conveyed your message properly? Just sayin' .

I just did my part to warm it up a bit here in Maine. About a 15 second long baked bean fart. Not only did it get slightly warmer, I feel a whole hell of lot better.
Just remember kids, the Earth has been cooling and heating up LOOOOOOONG before mankind was ever in the picture. I remember years ago when the threat was global cooling, not warming. Since none of the past theories seem to jive with reality, the "scientists" have resorted to calling it "Climate change". Well, no $hit Sherlock... Could we get anymore ambiguous? That's simply NOT science.

Funny you mention that. I actually read an article years ago blaming cow farts on global warming.

Funny you mention that. I actually read an article years ago blaming cow farts on global warming. You're sh!tting me No kidding! They've now got a fraction of them poor things wearing fart/belch backpacks to collect all the methane gas, in order to protect the globe... The only problem with that approach, as I see it, is their sheer numbers... There are literally millions and millions of them, and, at the rate things are going, by the time the last cows in the poorest third world countries receive their backpacks, the planet should certainly be either engulfed in flames, or frozen like a popsicle, depending on which expert is speaking, of course.

Just wondering... if you have bald patches on your lawn, would your grass be "folically-challenged"? Oh...because science and political correctness are the same thing. Quite droll. your lack of a sense of humor must make you a lot of fun at parties...

Global warming?
1. I don't believe ANY of the so-called "research." Why? There are too many studies that start with a conclusion and then pick data to "prove" what they want. Not even prestigious universities are free of this abomination of science. If you're relying on "studies" to justify your opinion, then you're probably fooling yourself.
2. The undeniable facts (independent of "studies") are that there is lots (LOTS) of ice loss at the poles. Is this symptomatic of broader changes or something that naturally happens from time to time - the jury is out.
3. There seems to be a strong positive correlation between carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and temperature rise. Correlation is not the same as causation.
4. So to draw (my) conclusions - Is mankind causing higher atmospheric carbon dioxide content - probably. Is global warming happening because of these emissions - not yet certain.
Until "scientists" quit playing politics and publicity and stick to honest research (a highly-unlikely scenario), I'm skeptical of ALL climate claims. I think current "studies" have all the credibility of a "Kardashians" show.
I can be wrong, but I'm so disgusted with the current state of "scientific research," that I'm skeptical of it all.
YMMV - Boomzilla

Your observations are spot on. A large sector of the scientific community is ripe with overblow sensationalism or outright fraud seeking lucrative government grants or political control. The same computer models that predicted a coming ice age in the late 70's have been tweaked to forecast a global meltdown. A window into this fraud was provided by climate gate aka " Harry read me". And the list goes on from cherry picking time lines to excluding data reads that prove contrary to the sensationalism needed for large grants.
Al Gore has made hundreds of millions off this fraud. His movie was so full of lies it was even removed from liberal school systems. This issue has unfortunately turned science into a Bordello

I have an idea. We all trade our cars and trucks in for cows. This way we can reduced global emissions by about half. And when we get sick of our cow we can eat it.
It's really a win win. You can add another win if you take leather into account.
