I'm getting a lot of port noise through my 6S speakers, to the point that it's quite distracting when listening to low-end heavy songs at moderate and high volumes. I'm using JRiver as my media player, and I put a high-pass filter at 40hz while trying a 12, 24, and 48 slope and it helped the problem some but is far from eliminating it. If I plug the rear ports then it becomes inaudible, but I'm not sure if that is good for the speakers? Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!

Are you getting port noise through both speakers?

Bootman, I'm hoping to keep this to just a 2.0 system for now. : ) But I hear you!
Redog, yes, the port noise is coming from both speakers.

Check the spot where the port meets the back of the speaker on the inside. One of mine had a 1/8" gap and caused lots of port noise

I can't seem to see what you're describing Redog? Any more info on what I should be looking for?

Port noise occurs when you try to reproduce too high of a signal below the port's tuned frequency. So that is really the only fix. Only other option is to plug them which will change the speaker's response and sensitivity.

Redog, I can't see a gap now, so I'm not sure what that means...

Redog, I can't see a gap now, so I'm not sure what that means... There shouldn't be one, so I guess that's not the problem..I remember having some port noise with mine, but only when listening at levels far beyond normal.
