1) The only way to play blu-ray lossless surround formats to the 8100 from a fat PS3 is via LPCM, Multi PCM must be set to "All Stereo" (per the already previously posted AVS UMC-200 thread link) 2) Coax/optical does not support blu-ray lossless surround formats, must use HDMI
OP needs to make a choice: 1) Use LPCM via HDMI and let the PS3 do all the decoding (this will support ALL lossy and lossless formats), preferred solution imo 2) Use coax/optical and lose all lossless surround capability, non-preferred solution imo
And finally troubleshooting steps in a sensible order are called for imo vs just trying a bunch of things haphazardly: 1) Make sure PS3 is outputting LPCM over HDMI (how to link already provided) 2) If so, set 8100 to Multi-PCM = All Stereo (incorrect labeling of format already noted, should be labeled All Channel) 3) If no surround, then a cable (doubtful though since two digital channels are getting through) 4) Punt and just use spdif, and accept the lesser audio formats
