Hi,
I am looking at making some changes to my outdoor music. I currently have a pair of Emotiva UOM-6.2 speakers mounted under the veranda ceiling at pointing toward the back lawn. I power them from the system in my lounge and an Emotiva UPA-2 amp.
We mostly listen to music when we are in the pool so it is inconvenient to adjust the volume or change the music while wet. I am now going to move the speakers closer to the pool and am looking at options to stream music from an iPad using iTunes, iRadio or Pandora. I'm also looking to move the UPA-2 amp closer to the pool and speakers, it will be protected under the veranda roof and covered when not in use.
I am now researching a Bluetooth streaming device to connect to the amp. The Arcam rBlink seems to fit my needs so I have a some questions.
Has anyone here had any experience with the rBlink? Can the volume be controlled by the iPad that is streaming to it. Are there any other similar products that anyone has used that they would recommend?
The rBlink has an RCA anolog out so can connect direct to the amp if it has a volume control. It also has an SPDIF coaxial out so I could connect it to an XDA-2 for volume control or improved digital to analog quality. The rBlink has Bluetooth codecs SBC, AAC and aptX. Although not a feature of Apple iProducts, aptX supports music streaming up to 380Kbit which is fine for me needs.
Cheers, Dave.

Airport Express, iPad, iPhone works great for this application but then again it sounds like you might be short a receiver/preamp/DAC. For my outdoor system, I connected the Airport Express optical to an old Outlaw 950 I had laying around to a UPA200. Using Tidal though Airplay on this system feels very custom.
