vneal, The XPR series will not fit on a standard stand like the one you have pictured. It's 5 U high and needs to breathe,,,,at least a little. The XPR-5 weighs 94 lbs, that's a ton of amp!!

I've sold bowers to 2 paradigm owners who say they are too bright and hurt their ears after long listening sessions. Fwiw

As others have suggested if you're going to put an amp on carpet put it on some kind of board or block. I would also consider how you're going to get to the back of it, if you'll have to pull it out I'd consider something smooth that could slide out with the amp. I used a nicely finished board that I rounded the bottom edges to slide more easily, maybe you could even put those Teflon furniture glides on the bottom. If you can get to the back then it's moot, but with a heavy amp like this, consider it if you can't.
The 10AWG wire you're considering should work well.

I sort of whish I had them side by side to listen to..but for TV watching on its first day in my house no difference could be heard.... I did *maybe* notice a bit more 'relaxed'?! sound and what I thought was a larger imaging when I listened to a couple Nora Jones tracks that I baseline with...but could have been the blue lights mesmerizing me

Fantastic speakers sold B and W for 15 years. 803 is a favorite of mine. The XPR-5 is about incredible control dynamics, and ease that no multi channel amp in Emotiva's catalog, and others catalogs can match. It is the end game amp without the end of your wallet. You would be mightily impressed with the XPR-5.

Planning on getting 18 by 18 by 1/2 inch thick polished granite or marble stone to bear the weight of this baby. It should slide smoothly on the carpet :-)

Do you guys think that bare wiring the 10 awg wires to the speaker and amp terminals would be okay or even be superior sonically? I'll be bi-wiring.

When you insert the wire make sure it`s bareback when sticking it in , otherwise I just don`t see a positive or neutral outcome in the situation muhahahahahahaha

Also where the XPR 5 will be located, my left main will required 6 feet of cable and the right main will require about 14 feet. Is it okay to mix 2 different lengths of wires to connect the main speakers to the amp? Thanks
