I had a problem when I first got my XPA-3 and solved it by changing outlets. Sorry I haven't read all 9 pages but figured I'd add my 2 cents. If you can get your hands on a good UPS which cleans the power you can try that as well to see if that helps.

I have a PS audio power strip.

Anything labelled "reference" should be dead quiet I doubt there is any such thing as dead quiet. Even a sea shell makes sound...

Yeah it's plugged into its own dedicated outlet. Won't the ups limit the power draw? I have a PS audio power strip. It's possible if you are listening at high volumes but it would be good just for testing purposes to see if it's your power outlet that's noisy. If you end up with the same noise going through the power strip then it's a good bet it's something else in the chain. Of course I would make sure I tried the power strip in 2 different power outlets (with amp connected) and make sure the amp has been tried in as many outlets as you can (without power strip0, even if it's just a 15 amp circuit to troubleshoot.

Funny , in the start before i hooked my new umc-1 to my amps, there was a definitif tweeter hiss from my bi amplified fronts only. But since then silence after my dirac calibration... Go figure, Seems like dirac took out a possible 15000-18000 tweeter peak rendering the paradigm pretty well dead Silent. Mel

components should be dead quiet With your environment dead quiet, put one ear right next to your Furman Elite 15. As you turn it on it does make audible hum. Mine is left on all the time and has a dedicated plug and circuit. And guess what IT IS DEAD QUIET. So if you have the same model you are doing something wrong . The only component in my system that is not DEAD QUIET is my IBOOK 3T hard drive. I choose the models that plug in and unfortunately they have those damn external 12V transformer. You can feel it vibrate slightly. It has its own dedicated shelf and sorbathane pucks as do other components

With my ear right next to them there is a very low level hum. Nothing to be bothered about. I'm not doing anything wrong.
