We are building a new house and have decided we want to keep in simple in the upstairs living room. Our current setup consisting of emp tek towers, center and surrounds with amp and dual elemental designs 15's will go in the basement.
For upstairs we would like to go with a simple 5.1 or 5.2 setup using all in wall speakers except for the subs. Well maybe the subs too.
For the mains, center and surrounds I would like to set the upper end at $700 for speakers. Anyone have any experience with the UAW-8.2 in walls?

Sorry, I hated the 8.2's..... i gave them to my brother in law and ordered some Polks.... Much better and they were only hooked up to a Sony receiver which had 110w per channel but would love to hear the 8.2's hooked up to a better system. Would give them another try, but I like my in wall polks now... Interested in what the others say about the 8.2's......

I should have tried them hooked up to more power. I believe they were only running off of my Yamaha RX-V1900 7 channel receiver. I bet with a separate amp, they may have sounded better. Great price though.

I should have tried them hooked up to more power. I believe they were only running off of my Yamaha RX-V1900 7 channel receiver. I bet with a separate amp, they may have sounded better. Great price though. They are 4 ohm speakers. I see your RXV1900 manual has this note: "If you are to use 6 ohm speakers, set "speaker imp" to "6ohm min" as follows BEFORE using this unit. You can also use 4 ohm speakers as the front speakers." So I think 4 ohm surrounds are not compatible, although your receiver has great power specs. I'm going to try the UAW-6.2 for my surrounds right now. I have a Denon 3313 which is rated for 6 ohm speakers, which the 6" version is. I will roll them off at 80Hz to the subwoofers.

There ya go.... RTFM Brett.... Probably would have sounded way better? ? ? I believe I tried both the Yamaha, then a Pioneer, lower grade receiver but they both did not sound very good at all. Right now, the Polk in walls are running off of the Pioneer, but not sure of the Ohms. That is why I spend most of my time in my "Studio" with the XPA's and Wharfedales... Ha ha ha. Great reply and I will do some checking. Thanks again!!! Moto
