Hi
Does anyone use the Dolby volume level during Bluray movie playback? My anthem MRX700 had it set at low but I turned it off. What do you guys think of it? Does DVL limit the full potential of the reference levels mastered into the Blu-ray Disc?
Thanks mates.

While I don't bother as I believe it does limit or constrict dynamics, and I tend to run without it. A personal choice more than a technical one.

It surely sounds much better when it's turned off. Watched the seventh son movie last night. I was surrounded by off the charts dynamics. Awesome!!!

I knew what it did but wasn't sure why anthem room correction set it to Low instead of off!

Never used Dolby volume. I always used Dynamic EQ though until last week when I experimented with turning that off too. At present I think I like it better without that too since I usually use a strong playback level anyway - not reference. Maybe if I was going to listen quietly late at night, I might use Dynamic EQ again for that situation.
