Yes..but except for XPA-100 gen 1 which is 32db and gen 2 is 29 db. XPA-200 both gen 1 and gen 2 is 29db.

If I remember rightly XPA-1L's were always 29db, both Gen 1 and Gen 2.
Cheers Gary

and does all this mean the gen 1 32 db gain plays louder? They will play at the same max volume or output. However to get to the max volume you have to turn the volume knob up "less" than with a 29db. Same max volume and power. Not more powerful. Just depends on where on the volume knob you have to turn it. Usually lower gain is "better".

XPA1l came out during the gen2 amps which were all 29db. Than emotiva decided to put out a gen2 xpa1l to match the other amps cosmetically. They are 29db then and now. Btw I can here hiss up close with my XPA-5 with my XSP-1 but no hiss at all with my XPA-1 gen1. The XPA-1 and XSP-1 are dead quiet with my klipsch.

So the XPA-1L Gen 1 and Gen 2 are identical other than Silver trims and silver power button in the front panel?

Yes. There is a minor power supply tweak they did. But they stated that it is not noticeable.

The XPA-1L Gen 1 have a 2V (Pre in)can anyone comment on how well this mates up to an amp or preamp that has 1V (Pre out)?
