I've enjoyed my XPA-2 so much that I want to get rid of the rest of my modified Carver gear. Today I ordered an XSP-1 and an SA-250 for driving my AR90s. The XPA-2 and the Rotel pre and tuner will be doing HT/2-channel duty in the family room.
I can't wait to hook-up the new gear.
Has anyone else taken advantage of the Summer Sale?

Have two (2) XPA-2's coming! Will be hooking up to my RTi-A9's but may look for some different fronts... I only listen to loud music at the moment, not hooked up in the living room or home theatre... What recommendations would you say for under $1750 floor standing speakers??

What recommendations would you say for under $1750 floor standing speakers?? Do they need to be floorstanders ? I had rtia9's and moved to Jtr triple 8's and the smaller jtr's sh** all over the polks in every single way except bass under 70Hz. The jtr's need to be used with a sub but their detail, dynamics and sheer output hooked me forever on high efficiency/sensitivity speakers. I've since moved to Diy elusive 1099 speakers and they do everything the jtr's do but I can say I built them.

Check out all the XPA-2 Gen1's on Ebay today!!! Ha ha ha! I will be listing mine shortly. Hey, at first listen, my new Gen2 seems like the highs are a little higher, and the bass is not as punchy or big. I know it is brand new and I will give it time. Oh, and they are only hooked up to my Klipsch RP-160F's at the moment. Getting ready to sell the Gen1 XPA-2 AND my Polk Audio RTi-A9's. Lots of gear going up for sale....

Problem is most of the people selling the used Emotiva stuff are asking way too much (for Emotiva members at least). Especially right now with the E-Club and Summer Sale. A brand new XPA-2 goes for $720 shipped with this combination offer. Used on the Bay people are asking that much....never........

Please post your impressions of this combo. Also the differences in the xpa-2 and the Sa-250 The SA-250 and XSP-1 arrived late today. I only had time to un-box them and look them over. Impressions: Initial Pros and Cons upon removing the unit from the box and looking it over: PROSWell boxed and love the 'sock' Excellent build quality The SA-250 is much easier to move around vs the XPA-2 CONSNo color code difference between the 2 channels RCA posts on the SA-250 (extremely minor) No VU meter lights - this will drive me crazy. It will be my first amp w/o VU meters. I will write up a real review in another thread and post a link to it in this thread. It will probably be next week sometime after some listening time.

I was an early adopter of E-club, I wanted to show my support for the company and team Emotiva. I was nor prepared to make a purchase, just wanted to get on board to show support.
Now I find out by doing so I may be penalized for doing so. I have received a letter informing me that there are no further benefits to me any longer. So it would seem that by being an early supporter I made a mistake and should have not done so but waited till I actually needed to make a purchase.
I guess I won't be so fast to jump on board and support any new ideas put forth any more. Lesson learned. Heres the e-mail;
"The role, e-club, you acquired by purchasing a product at our store has expired. Any special access or privileges that came with it are now gone. You can purchase it again by going to Emotiva
Thanks again,
Emotiva".
Anyone have aver any thoughts or comments?
I may just be misguided and grumpy since I'm no longer looking to make a purchase. It just struck me poorly, y'all know they have E-go DACs coming out before the end of the summer sale and was looking to try one out at an even better price.

The e-mail you quoted from them doesn't seem to make grammatical sense. I thought that they were honoring e-club memberships through the expiration date but not issuing any new ones or renewals. Are you saying they terminated you early, before what should have been the official expiration date?

" before what should have been the official expiration date?" I was/am an early adopter of the program as I stated and the expiration is on the anniversary of my enrollment. My point being that in my effort to support Emotiva I lost my benefits at an inconvenient time, I did not and could not foresee this happening.

I'm not following.. if you had a membership and it expired at the scheduled time, then what difference does it make if you didn't utilize the membership when it was still in force? The fact that Emo decided to discontinue the program is a separate issue.

Did you get this email as well? ...Your 10% e-Club discount will still be applied on top of the summer sale prices that will start soon on our website. If you are an e-Club member that joined last June or July of last year, you will still be able to combine the summer sale discount even if your membership expires during the sale. You will have to call us to place an order if your membership expires before or during the sale and you want the e-Club summer sale discount....So we get 20% for the duration of the sale even if our membership expires.

EDIT: Bah! I started typing a response to Nick and got pulled away. I see geebo already said what I wanted to. novisnickI too was an early adopter of the e-Club program and my membership expired Thursday June 11. The e-mail you quoted (I got one too) appears to be system-generated message that informs us of an expiring role. It was always a one-year membership, and I was planning to renew until I got another e-mail from The Man himself titled "Important News About the e-Club." You should have received that same message via e-mail (I can PM it to you if you didn't receive it). The e-Club is simply closed to new memberships and will be ended eventually (probably after the last e-Club membership expires). However, notice what Dan mentioned for existing members who originally signed up in June or July. Paraphrasing, Emotiva will extend e-Club discounts for members who joined in June or July last year, and you can still stack the e-Club and Summer Sale discounts. So Dan is basically giving us (those who signed up early in the program) an extra month of free membership. That's pretty cool. So what happens when your membership expires during the sale? Well, the only caveat is that you must CALL Emotiva to place an order and receive e-Club benefits. You cannot do it online because the system recognizes that your membership has expired. I put this to the test yesterday (Monday). My membership expired last Thursday, but I called up Emotiva, spoke with Grayson, and was able to purchase a new set of AirMotiv 3b with stacked e-Club and Summer Sale discounts (20% total). If the Egos are released during the Summer Sale, and you still want one, just call Emotiva to place an order. Mention that you're an e-Club member and reference what Dan said in the e-mail. You shouldn't have a problem getting 20% off. Now, having said that, the e-Club program was entirely optional. If you purchased a membership and never used it, well, that's basically lost money. One of the incentives of e-Club was to get 10% off all year long. I don't believe "penalized" is the right term to use for your situation. You chose to purchase a membership, but never took advantage of the benefits. If the Ego DACs make an appearance during the Summer Sale, perhaps you can get most of your $50 back.
