I have a secondary room that is 14X 20. I want to put a LED flat screen . I have 3K to spend and live in Texas where bigger is better. What say you to my choices? ( LED 4K)

( LED 4K) Get something very cheap for now. One of those Chinese models. Television technology is unbecoming a major change with the first 4K HDR HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 all appearing really 2016. If you buy a headliner now at $3k, you will kick yourself for not having waited. This change is not trivial.

Samsung SUHD. With their evolution box, it'll never become obsolete. The HDR is top notch, too.

I for one do not want a curved screen---that I think is a gimmick and will soon fade. But so far no help on any current flat screen LEDs 4k for $3K. Samsung, LG, Sharp, Sony, Vizo--what brands

If you want to take advantage of 4k, then save another maybe $1500 or $2000 and get a projector, and make the image 3 to 4 times the size of lets say a 65 inch tv, that would be a big image, and looking awesome, JVC has such not too expensive product, read reviews about it. ....

I personally own one of the Vizio's P-series 4k tvs and I'm pretty happy with it. They make a 70" model that sports a 240z refresh rate and is priced at 2500.

I'm also going 4k eventually. Their (vizio) units also look to be better quality than the current 1080 batch.

Projectors are a whole different animal and typically require a dedicated room with controlled lighting.

For those looking at Vizio, not to be a snob, but I wasn't really impressed with their 4k sets.

For those looking at Vizio, not to be a snob, but I wasn't really impressed with their 4k sets. If you get them calibrated they are no different or worse than any other so-called high-end or "better" display. They actually calibrate well and can hit industry video standards with ease -provided you go with either their middle or top end lines. Their entry level lines don't (if memory serves me) give you CMS control. Out of the box they may not be as correct as some, but no display is -period. (Not even plasma or Kuros ) Save your money on the set, and put it into calibration and don't look back.

I'm a firm believer of the calibration of your TV, I wouldn't waist my money on a TV if it's not calibrated!! Why spend good money to have its abilities waisted by not putting them to full use. did I say that I'm a firm believer in TV calibration?,,,,,,,,,wait a second,,,,,,,,is there something in the Kool-Aid?

Got a great deal on last years model, going to wait a month to see if I can get a better price on a One Connect SEK-3500, then have it calibrated. Purchased a demo with a $179.00 2 year warranty, that was a huge discount over a NIB.
