I set up my SR-120 to my Mode and Parameter preferences, but when I turn it off/on (standby/on), it does not retain my settings.

eg: I set it for six-speaker operation, but it always comes up in just stereo mode.

How do I make it remember my prefs? (prolly something obvious I am overlooking)

You set everything up using page 20 of the manual correct? under Advanced Playback - that's where you set up preferred handling of different types of audio streams. Of course the processor has to see a stream before you get what you're set it up at. So I assume you're playing something and always getting "Stereo", not just turning it on and seeing "Stereo" in the display. And page 20 is where the speaker setup is explained also.

When you power up the receiver if the native signal being passed is 2.0 it will reflect that. If that is not the issue then I would check your settings in set up again.
