I have my HTPC and flat screen TV preset to 1920x1080p resolution. However, frequently when I turn them on, they end up syncing to a lower resolution. I've tried powering them up in difference sequences (e.g. XMC-1 first) but it doesn't seem to matter.
Any suggestions to get it to always sync at 1920x1080p?
Sincerely /b

Maybe you should identify your HTCP brand/model... That would definitely help responders in providing trouble shooting tips.

Sincerely /b So this setup has synced and worked at the higher resolution before? If not, are you sure your PC does 1080p? A lot of them do not out of the box. if so, you may need to go into settings for your video card. What PC are you using? Apple? Widows? Make and model please.

Most of the time it syncs just fine at 1920x1080p; but sometimes is syncs at a lower resolution. PC with ASUS motherboard, P5PKL-CM Asus silent (fanless) video card, EAH 5450 Win7. /b

Update your graphics card drivers using the manufacturers drivers website. If you have an Nvidia graphiocs card use nvidia.com if you have an ati card use ati.com These drivers offer slightly more robust multimonitor support than the standard drivers. For instance when I updated my drivers, the overscan issue of my monitor was solved.
Your card appears to be an ATI radeon HD 5450 video card.

Update your graphics card drivers using the manufacturers drivers website. Your card appears to be an ATI radeon HD 5450 video card. Excellent idea, I should have thought of that.
I chose that card, because I have never had a problem with the ATI cards, and it was one of the few performance video cards without a fan (important in a HTPC). The PC also has an oversized power supply, whose fan only comes on under load. And whisper fans for box ventilation and cpu.
I've updated the drivers, painless and fully automated; I'm sure it will help. Thanks for the suggestion.
Hey, we should be seeing 4k video cards soon; the gamers will want them.
Sincerely, /b

Good to hear. ATI has a control panel that shows up in the taskbar. It has a whole lotta multimonitor and HDTV settings. I think it will help.
