So this isn't audiophile, but in certain situations its convenient and easy. Technically iOS is an operating system and an iOS device is a computer... so I put it here.
Since Apple bought beats, then beats music got converted into Apple Music... and they had to re-negotiate contracts with the record companies.... well my guess is thats why Apple dropped support for home sharing via wifi.... they probably no longer have the rights to allow that to happen with the advent of Apple music... though its reported one can still do it to an apple tv currently or a computer... but heads up.

I did the software upgrade last night on the iPhone and the MacMini, haven't done the iPad yet. I mostly use the Apple TV for playing music so not really concerned as yet. I'll give the full system a good workout on the weekend and explore the limitations.
Cheers Gary

You're still apparently good to go using home sharing via apple tv and the computer... but if this truly is a licensing issue with contracts with the record companies... this may get worse. Specially considering the work around is the "family plan of Apple music" which don't quote me on this but I think I read that its around $14/mo

Just get iTunes Match for $25/year. It's still the sweet spot.
