Hello,
My Setup:
TV: Panasonic Viera
Pre/Pro: UMC-200 v1.52.02.41
Amp: XPA-5
Fronts: KEF Q900
Center: Kef Q600?
Surround: low-end Polk audio M10's or something.
Sub: SVS PC-13 Ultra
Sources: HTPC is my main source, but also have a PS4, Wii U, etc.
Controller: Harmony - usually through my phone.
Monster Power HTS 3600
Due to the amount of heat the plasma TV puts out and the heat-wave we've had as of recent up in Canada and my lack of AC, I decided to create a new activity on my harmony phone app. It's basically identical to my HTPC activity, except I skip turning on the TV. Then I control itunes remotely through my phone. This worked great, but when switching to the HTPC activity, sometimes the video wouldn't come through. I'm not sure if it was the video card not waking up, HDMI-CEC, or some other random thing. Generally turning the UMC-200 on and off would set it straight. This went on intermittently for a couple of days until today.
Today, I came home to turn on the HTPC and watch some netflix and I'm unable to get video from my UMC-200. The inputs are correct (haven't changed in a couple years), I've confirmed them correct on the TV and UMC-200. I get display on the TV if I go through the TV settings and I'm currently typing via the HTPC connected directly to the TV, but when I try HTPC > UMC-200 > TV, I get no video. So I'm fairly sure it's the UMC-200.
The UMC-200 does turn on and I can read the display on the front of it and cycle throguh the menus. It also turns on my XPA-5 as per normal. Everything looks normal, exept for the lack of video and audio. I tried turning it off and disconnecting the power, then turning it back on. It took a while to boot and said loading for a bit, then said ERROR ! NO DSP2 CODE !. Then a few moments later ERROR! OSD Flash Not Match !. Then it went to the normal screen showing the input volume etc. If I turn it off and on again using the power button again on the front, it boots fine, except there's no video. If I turn it off and disconnect the power in some fashion, then turn it on, I can replicate the 2 errors, followed by it booting to what appears to be a normal screen.
I swapped the HDMI cable with the one connecting my HTPC to my TV (known good) with no change. I tried contacting emotiva, but as luck would have it, they're closed by the time I got home and realized this.
Any ideas?
I feel pretty bummed and lost without my UMC-200 and my TV speakers just aren't cutting it so far. For what it's worth, the UMC-200 was purchased in December of 2013. It's connected to my network I believe and I think allows for firmware updates, so if I can figure out how to navigate the menus, I may try that. I may also try restoring to default, though I'm really not thrilled about hte idea of losing all my settings.
Suggestions? Do's or don'ts?
Thanks in advance!
Scotty
