Hi All, I am really glad for this forum. I am a newbie, just purchased an XDA-2 Gen 2 DAC as an upgrade to the DAC in my receiver and prepare for an HTPC build. I am experimenting with a laptop right now to work out the best software and configuration for when I build or buy my HTPC.
Originally I wanted to use Kodi, which supports WASAPI, but it looks like only in the Event Mode now, no longer in the Push Mode. I am going to petition the Kodi community in hopes they retrofit the original integration mode because as a media player that looks really good to me. The other option is for the Emotiva team to upgrade the XDA-2 to support Event Mode. Can you advise on how to pursue that avenue?
Secondly, if I am stuck at a dead-end and Kodi/Emotiva XDA-2 G2 are never going to wed, can you suggest the next best media serving software? I want a windows compatible product with highest quality streaming. I have tried JRiver and I was happy with the audio quality, not so much the user experience and I have not yet tried the android app, which I'll use to control the system.
What media app would you recommend that will work within the current limits of the Emotiva X-2 G2?
Thank you for your ideas and suggestions.

I use JRiver build 19 with XDA-2 Gen 1 and love it. They are now selling Build 21, but don't know how that works with XDA-2 Generation 2. I am sure that some one on the forum can commit how it works with 21.

I use Foobar2000. Not as flashy as the others, but it works.
