Ran DIRAC with new mini dsp umik-1 and after running I hit create filters and my internet went down causing DIRAC to lock up and now it will not open. I deleted it and reloaded and it still will not work. Now what do I do?

Still won't open, run but not create filters, or something else?
If it still won't even open, sounds like something else went wrong on the pc and it wasn't just the "internet going down"
We will need more detailed pc info to help you troubleshoot and you will need that anyway if you need to call support on Monday.

Yes it was all fine until I tried to create filters and my internet went down giving me the message no internet connection available and locking up DIRAC I reset the internet and waited about 30 minutes but DIRAC still would not do anything so I had to close it and when I tried to reopen it windows said the program encountered an error and windows could not fix it. It will get to the point of asking if you want to use the xmc-1 and as soon as I say yes it locks up and locks the XMC up also, causing me to have to turn off the master power on the XMC to reset it.

Are you certain just the internet went down? CHKDSK is a main function of the computer hard drive for errors and such. If it is not going beyond 10%, possible hard disk drive issues. Everything else on the computer work fine? Are you encountering any other problems with that computer?

No, everything else works fine but when I tried to do a restore it would not let me, it said there was a disk error so I ran chkdsk and it would not finish (something does not want me to restore my computer). I reloaded DIRAC and it wants a password and when I try to type it, it closes before I can even complete it.

What you are saying points to a hard drive failing. That would explain all of your symptoms.

Yes I would agree, sounds definitely like a failing hard drive. The Best Utility I have ever seen is Spinwrite by Steve Gibson. It will analyze, and repair drives very effectively, but it would be cheaper to by another new Hard Drive.

Unless the OP has bade some good backups, a new drive means starting over from scratch with is OS and programs. So a new drive is cheap, but very time consuming if you are not prepared. I myself loading OS from scratch as fun, but I'm not normal.

I had the same problem when I upgraded to Windows 10. It would get to the point of picking the UMC-1 and then lock up after I selected it. To fix this, I right click on the icon on the desktop and run as administrator.

Now you know why people make snarky remarks about Microsoft Windows "being a permanent beta test"..... It's not really that bad, but a LOT of things have changed with Windows 10, so it will probably take a while for everything in it to work just right. (They've already mentioned that there will be a lot more changes between now and "Threshold 2" somewhere in September or October. A few people have mentioned that Dirac wouldn't run on their particular WIndows 8.1 machine until they ran it in Admin, so it's no big surprise that the same may be true for Windows 10. (As far as "disk test utilities" and such, you should also remember that Windows 10 installs differently depending on whether it is installed fresh, or over another version of Windows, or which version it is installed over. It also installs differently depending on whether the machine you're installing it on is UEFI enabled or not (it's a BIOS security thing). This means that there are really a lot of different variations between different installs of Windows 10 on different computers - so "your results will almost certainly vary".) We will be following the changeover, and will be posting hints and updates as they occur Yes it was all fine until I tried to create filters and my internet went down giving me the message no internet connection available and locking up DIRAC I reset the internet and waited about 30 minutes but DIRAC still would not do anything so I had to close it and when I tried to reopen it windows said the program encountered an error and windows could not fix it.
