I did call them, and they basically said "we don't know anything, but we can call and get any of your questions answered and get back to you". Net, not really helpful...

I forgot to blurt this out, but it would be appropriate to blurt. Last week, I walked barefoot across my deck...and I ended up ramming the ball of my foot through a nail head that had popped up about ~3/4". It tore a ~2" long gash in the ball of my foot so deep that I could see the muscles clearly. It was lovely.
And, needless to say...this HURT!!!!!!!! My saving grace? My wonderful son (16 year old, almost Eagle Scout, very capable young man) was there the help me. He did first aid, cleaned up my blood trail, and went out (with shoes on) to hammer all the popped nails back in. And, he brought me Advil and bourbon to ease the pain.
After 2.5 days in bed with my foot elevated and fresh antibiotics and bandages, I went to work on crutches. I even made it through a weekend in Nashville on crutches at the bars (yeah, I got some looks like, "what the heck are you doing here like this...?"). And now, I am almost walking normal again.
So yeah....BLURT!!!! THIS HURT!!! If you have a nailed-down wooden deck, check for popped nails!

I can relate to this Mark. If not mistaken I believe the owner (Brian?) is perhaps Asian who works by himself or with a very small staff (Enrico?). I have many friends and ex-co-workers who are native Asian or Hispanic speakers. Even after many years of speaking English (especially if they started English in their 20's or later) many still have a significant accent. It is usually no problem in person but a different issue over the phone. This is especially prevalent with those who's native language is fast paced like Vietnamese, Tagalog and some Chinese dialogs. They tend to also speak English very fast. I always if in a polite circumstance encourage them to slow down when speaking over the phone. That can be difficult when talking to a sales person over the phone when they might not be aware that the customer is having a difficult time understanding them. Too bad since I have been very impressed by what I've read about Rythmik subs like the FV-15HP, which would be on my short list for an all out Home Theater sub. Some of their sealed subs seem to excellent also. Good ruck! I just read about your foot. Hey, watch where you are walking you clumsy old fart!

I was dealing with Enrico over email, but he was only answering 1 question at a time instead of the 2-3 I was asking, and each answer was incomplete. So I tired calling and that is when I learned his cell phone is horrible (or he isn't speaking into the mic). Brian was far better on the phone when I finally talked to him last night. In any case, the documentation is very poorly written with clear errors in it...that is what led to my questions. One more question to go before I pull the trigger!

Also glad you are on the mend, that sounds nasty And good on your son

Also glad you are on the mend, that sounds nasty Once I was able to reach Brian, things got better. But, I still had to go back and forth a few times on some details - like, on the F25, the controls are different for the XLR inputs than what they are for the FV15HP with the XLR2 amp, and it was not clear from their documentation how to set it the way I wanted (or if it could even be set the way I want!). So, that took some work. But, it's clear now! And thanks - today was day #1 w/o crutches after a little more than a week. Felt liberating! Mark

I really thought there was room for more discussion about the value of discontinued Emotiva amps in that NFS amp thread.
I just may start a discussion thread.

This is why I bought a tire patch kit at Walmart...the whole kit was less than $10, and I have not paid to fix a flat due to a screw/nail/piece of metal in over 10 years. And, in many cases, I have not even had to take the tire off the car...find the cause, pull out the metal, bore out the wound with the special tool in the kit, put the patching rod in the other tool from the kit and coat it with the rubber cement, insert into wound and pull out vigorously with a twist. Then, turn on compressor and inflate tire. Total time? About 3-5 minutes. Cost...less than a buck a flat. And...easy-peezy-lemon-squeezy!
Of course, living 7-15 miles from the nearest places that patch tires, it is also a major time saver. And, I manage to pick up a piece of road debris at least 2x/year,and locust thorns puncture my tractor tires at least once a year.

Mark I guess all that works just fine when youve put in a days work, drive over to the rehabilitation home to vist dad and later come out to find the car on the rim!! Yep, should have had that kit,,,,, ,,,,,Then just fart in a tube to fill it up!! Sometimes life just isn't so convenient, but it does help to just " Blurt it Out "!!!!! My kit and compressor were at the house which I hadnt seen in 15 hours. Im tiered and grumpy, sorry if it shows sometimes.

I often carry my kit with me. Then, it is only a matter of getting some air. Or, finding as chili parlor and working up some flatulence. Mark

This forum
Needs a podcast Getting closer I think. I got an email today on discontinued items with this header: "We’re making room in our lineup for exciting new products, and as a result of that, the following Emotiva products are discontinued. All sales are final, and when we are out, they’re out for good. "
