My UMC 200 went on the blink a week ago, Emotiva very helpful and diagnosed a faulty power supply within the unit, and have sent one out to me, so no issues there, first class customer service in fact.
Question; thinking that this should not be too difficult to swap out by myself, rather than having to schlep around and find somebody. Any forumites out there who could advise, is it easy (ish) or really a shop technician job??
Thanks

4 screws to remove the board, some connectors like in a PC, overall 5 minutes of work... Just ensure you are grounded while doing this (ESD).

Pretty much as bolle described, disconnect everything, the top cover is held on by 4 Philips head screws, 2 on each side, and 4 smaller ones on the rest. It's a bit tricky to get off, need to slip it back a little then lift out one side first then other. The power supply board is held in with 4 Phillips head screws, then there are 2 connectors, quite different so hard to confuse them. I'd suggest taking pictures with your phone as you disassemble so that you can see how to reassemble everything. I have some pictures on the home office PC I'll post them up when I get home if I can find them.
Cheers Gary

I did try to get then case off and it is a bit of a b***h to get off, I will try again, but glad the rest is relatively straight forward. Thanks a million all

You might have to cut a few cable ties and that's about it. Take a before pic before you start on the cables. Only 4 cables, one for the main power (2 red wires thicker than all the others) and a smaller 2 pin right next to that but very much smaller. On one corner a 5 way white connector, maybe some adhesive paint normally blue that might need to be split to remove the plug easily. A similar sized 5 pin is the last connector that goes to the front panel if I recall correctly and that's it....sorry about the crappy image

Trust me it's much easier than replacing and xpa 3/5 amp module and don't get me started on xpa-1/2 as they are seriously challenging.
